    Is it possible to just upload ne high resolution image and on eg mobile (smaller screen) a compressed/smaller version will be used automatically or do I need to upload different resolutions myself?

    You can use css to target the resolution you want to use for each device.

    Correct. It would require css or alternatively a plugin.
