    Hi,
    In my blog, some articles are “customer references”. I would like all them to have the same presentation/layout, and I am facing several issues to do this.

    1) I would like to have a template with predefined sections (like the customer activity, the project done with him, what we did great for him, a customer logo, …) -> is this possible, and how?

    2) I would like to be able to reconfigure this template over time, and be sure that changes apply to all formerly written posts. The advanced builder has a template feature, but I feel that it will not back-apply to former articles. Right?

    3) when using the advanced builder, the post fields (title, categories, etc.) do not appear any more, as opposed to the standard editor. How can I embed these fields in the advanced editor? I was expecting shortcodes like [title] but I am afraid it does not work. Any other solution?

    Many thanks for any hint. I would like to avoid PHP.

    Hey bfredo123,

    You can create a blog post the way you like it and save it as a template, later you can use to create posts with it.
    Then you can create the next version of the template.

    Those you have to add manually, the title can be added a special heading.

    Best regards,
    Victoria

    Thanks Victoria, but I am afraid this does not answer my questions.

    In item 2) I said that I would like the template changes to be reflected in formerly written posts. For instance if the template initially specifies some blue text, and then a new version of the template specifies red instead of text, I would like that the text of older posts turns from blue to red. This is typically what a CSS style sheet does. But it looks like the Enfold templates do not. So how could I do that?

    Regarding titles, I would like to avoid to type the title twice, to ensure consistency. Currently, I am setting the title in the post title, so that it appears in the blog list. I would like it to appear in the post body too, but without having to type it again. If later on I want to retitle the post, I don’t want to make the change at 2 different places. Is this possible? I have looked at the “special heading”, but could not find a way to retrieve the post title there. Did I miss something?

    Thanks

    Hi,
    For post titles, when using the advanced layout builder, you can create a shortcode to display the title, which will automatically update. Please see this solution.
    Enfold templates are to save element layouts that you may use often so you can use them again, but they do not update previous posts, pages, or content.
    Think of them as saving the elements in your clipboard, and once you paste them you still need to edit the content for the post, or they would all look the same.
    If you are only changing colors, then css would be your best solution.

    Thanks a lot, pretty clear.
    The shortcode works great.
    Too bad for the template update. What I was actually looking for was something enforcing sections of text like :
    1) Customer context
    <custom text here for each reference>
    2) Customer pain points
    <custom text here>
    3) Benefits
    <custom text>

    Hi,
    I believe that you might find creating custom shortcodes will achieve this for you. In the future, as you change the output, all of the pages will be updated automatically.
    Please try this Shortcodes Generator

    Best regards,
    Mike
