What does the Bible say about “In Vitro” fertilisation?
“In Vitro” Fertilization is a process by which egg cells are fertilized by sperm outside the womb, and it is a major treatment in infertility. The term in vitro, in Latin means within the glass, and it refers to the test tubes where the woman’s ova are fertilized. The first time doctors used this method in England in 1978. Thus, by laparoscopy, the woman’s ovule prevails. Sperm is obtained from the man, but in many cases, from the containers with sperm, where man’s seed is kept frozen. Doctors create an environment, called “culture medium” and there they cause the fertilization of the egg by the spermatozoon. Human zygote is kept for germination and after insemination, from 36 to 56 hours, it will be transferred into the woman’s uterus, expecting that it will survive. What does the Bible say about this practice? Directly – nothing, because no one has used such a method during those times when the revelation of God was recorded. But the Bible addresses the subject of the human life’s value very much and, looking at all that the Scripture says, we can draw clear conclusions regarding ”In Vitro” fertilization.
Artificial insemination brings more death than lifeDuring 1998-1999, just these two years, in the United Kingdom 70,000 human embryos died during the implementation of ”In Vitro” fertilization method, and only 8300 children were born. Since the sperm fertilizes the egg and the human zygote appears, we deal with a man whose life has exactly the same value that has the life of each of us, those who were born and who live on this earth. Here is a law in the Scriptures that shows the fetus’ value:
If men struggle with each other and strike a woman with child so that she gives birth prematurely, yet there is no injury, he shall surely be fined as the woman’s husband may demand of him, and he shall pay as the judges decide. But if there is any further injury, then you shall appoint as a penalty life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise. (Exodus 21:22-25)(NASB)
Both doctors and men and women who resort to this method are aware from the beginning that they agree to the conceiving of children, most of which will be killed. Are they also aware that they will give account of the lives of their own killed children?
Artificial insemination involves the murder of children by abortionWhen fertilization is outside the body, more embryos are created in the test tube. Thus, doctors apply the conceiving of more “spare” embryos (children), given that only 1 or at the most 2 of 10 will survive and will be alive until birth. Then, several embryos are transferred into the womb of the mother, expecting that at least one of them will implant successfully. As a result, multiple pregnancy occur most often and then, doctors use the so called “embryonic reduction” which means that some embryos (children) are eliminated (killed), to allow the survival of one or two embryos . The elimination of the embryos from the body is abortion and murder.
Artificial insemination involves antihuman treatment to children through prison sentenceWhat normal person would accept to send their child to prison? Nobody can even think of such a thing. Preparing the artificial insemination, doctors seek to obtain a large number of embryos. Then, a small part of these embryos (people who have life) are transferred into the womb of the mother and another part will be kept for future treatment or experience. These embryos are stored to be frozen and can be kept in that condition for a long time.
Artificial insemination is an attempt to change God’s planIt is written in the Bible that God is the One who makes a woman to give birth or to be barren. The same applies to men. Therefore, it is good to realize this, and to receive both children and impossibility to have our own children as something that comes from God. Then, throughout the Bible it is told about many women who were sterile for a period of time and then God gave them children, as it is written in the Book of Psalms:
He makes the barren woman abide in the house as a joyful mother of children. Praise the LORD! (Psalm 113:9)(NASB)
When people have waited patiently until God worked in their lives and gave them children, they had only joy and blessings. That happened in the lives of Rachel, Anna, Elizabeth, etc.
The Bible tells us, however, cases when someone wanted to help God and have resorted to a method of conceiving the child outside the body of the woman who was part of the covenant of marriage, similar to ”in vitro” insemination and this has brought them great sufferings. Sarah did that, she was sterile and God had promised her that she would have a son. Here’s what she did:
So Sarai said to Abram, “Now behold, the LORD has prevented me from bearing children. Please go in to my maid; perhaps I will obtain children through her.” And Abram listened to the voice of Sarai. After Abram had lived ten years in the land of Canaan, Abram’s wife Sarai took Hagar the Egyptian, her maid, and gave her to her husband Abram as his wife. He went in to Hagar, and she conceived; and when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was despised in her sight. (Genesis 16:2-4)(NASB)
It was only the beginning of the problems. Later many other problems came from Hagar and from Ishmael who was born and those problems have extended over the people of Israel until today. When we want to help God with our own “inventions”, we always suffer a lot. But God kept His promise, and Sarah gave birth to her own child, who inherited the promises of God. Sarah, however, has not killed any of her children.
When people, in utter despair to have children, accept to kill many other children of theirs to have one, these sins will not remain unpunished. And artificial insemination can not be done without these murders of children, that are embryos.
Artificial insemination involves the cruelest genocideIn the UK, during 1991-1998, of the 750,000 embryos that were created by artificial fertilization, 237,000 were destroyed and 48,000 were donated for research. There are known cases where the embryos that were surplus were used to produce cosmetics. When I told my wife that, she said: “Even fascists have not acted this way…”. Moreover, it is well known that in concentration camps the fascists sought to use everything for their economy: the ashes of burned people as fertilizer to grow cabbage, hair was used to make pillows, out of people’s skin they made leather gloves and soap out of their fat. I saw these products at the war museum in Kiev. How can someone who has resorted to artificial insemination, sleep quietly when he knows that some of his children will be frozen or destroyed, or donated for research, or used for producing cosmetics?
God will settle accounts with all those guilty of “in vitro” murder
The most known commandment of the Ten Commandments is “Thou shalt not kill.” God also says about the value of the lives of those children who were killed as the result of “in vitro” insemination experiment:
Surely I will require your lifeblood; from every beast I will require it. And from every man, from every man’s brother I will require the life of man. Whoever sheds man’s blood, by man his blood shall be shed, for in the image of God He made man. (Genesis 9:5-6)(NASB)
In Moldova, the artificial insemination procedure is performed “successfully” for 10 years, as claimed by professionals, and couples pay for this $1500. Are parents and doctors that resort to this method aware of the value of their children’s lives, whom they leave for experiments and then kill? Are they really aware that they will give account before God? As God does this in the Bible, the church also condemns this practice of death.
And what is the solution for the couples that can not have children? To adopt orphan children. In this way, they will save the lives and the future of orphans and will not give birth to their own children to kill the most of them. Here’s what Scripture says about it:
Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world. (James 1:27)(NASB)
To visit here means to be fully involved in the life of someone who needs to be supported, to be helped. The first on this list is the orphan and who shows mercy to an orphan and helps, support, raises him, gives evidence of a true faith in God. Those who show mercy to orphans and then give them a future and a hope will have a very beautiful testimony before God and before people. God help us to look at the human life’s value just as He looks at it.
Jesus Christ is God incarnate!
The person of Lord Jesus is very much spoken about. Some believe He was a prophet, others think He was a great man, a powerful leader. The Gospel of John presents us the Lord Jesus as the Son of God and the Son of Man and as God incarnate.
The purpose the evangelist wrote this Gospel can be found in chapter 20:30-31:
And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.
I want us to look how chapter I of the Gospel of John presents the Lord Jesus as the Son of God and the Christ, meaning, that He is promised by God through the prophets in the Holy Scriptures.
Jesus Christ – The Son of God incarnate
In the first 18 verses of chapter 1 of the Gospel of John, the author speaks of the Word presenting Him as: God (John 1: 1-2) at the beginning (at the beginning of creation He was or was already there) (John 1: 1) , The Creator (John 1: 3, 10), the life of men (John 1: 4), the Savior (John 1: 12-13). Verse 14 tells us that “And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth. And we looked upon His glory, a glory just as the glory of the only begotten of the Father. “So the Word that is God, the Creator, the Savior, became flesh. Attention is drawn to the phrase “and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth,” for in verse 17 he writes “For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ …”, pointing out that The Word, spoken of above and made flesh, is the Lord Jesus Christ.
In this chapter we also have the testimony of John the Baptist about Jesus. He confesses about the Lord Jesus that he did not know Him, but it was precisely for this that he was sent to baptize with water so that the Son of God could be made known to Israel. God gave him a sign to know Him: “The one upon whom you see the Spirit descending and stopping is the one who baptizes with the Holy Spirit” (John 1:33). And in the next verse, John testifies, “And I saw this, and I testified that He is the Son of God.” In verses 15, 27 and 30, John the Baptist testifies of Jesus coming after him, but he is before him, because Was before him. By this, John the Baptist points to the pre-existence of the Lord Jesus: for though the Lord Jesus was born after John and began his ministry after John, yet He existed before John the Baptist was conceived, as we saw in the first verse of chapter 1 “He was at the beginning,” that is, at the beginning of creation, He being the Creator, as it is written, “and nothing that was done was done without him” (John 1: 3). In verse 23 John the Baptist himself testifies that he is “the voice of the one crying in the wilderness:“Make straight the way of the Lord,”as the prophet Isaiah said,“showing that Jesus, who comes after him, is the Lord, that is, God. We further see that John the Baptist directs his disciples to Jesus, confessing that Jesus is “the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world” (John 1: 26,29).
Jesus Christ – The Son of ManIn verse 51 of this chapter the Lord Jesus presents Himself as the Son of Man. By showing that He is not only the Son of God, He is also the Son of Man, meaning, God is incarnate, as we have seen in verse 14 of this chapter. From verse 45 we find out that He is Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.
Let’s see what the Scriptures say about the family and the place where the Christ was born (the Messiah – the One who was promised). In the Old Testament the word “Messiah” we meet once in Daniel 9:25. But instead, the Old Testament often refers to “a seed” that according to Galatians 3:16 is the Christ. The first reference to the promised seed is found in Genesis 3:15, where we see that it is the seed of the woman who will crush the serpent’s head. Then in Genesis 22: 16-18 we see that God promises to Abraham that “All nations of the earth will be blessed in your seed.” Abraham had several sons, but God specifies in Genesis 17:19, 21:12 that the seed will come out of Isaac, the son born of the promise of Sarah. Isaac also had two sons, but again the Scriptures show us specifically that the seed will come from Jacob (Genesis 28: 10-14). Jacob had 12 sons, but Genesis 49:10 specifies that the Messiah will come out of Judah. Thousands of families came out of Judah, but in Isaiah 11: 1-2 again it is specified that the Promised One will come out of Jesse Bethlehemite, who has 8 sons. In 2 Samuel 7: 8-16 we see that the One promised by God would be born in the house of David, the youngest son of Jesse. Matthew 1: 18-25 speaks of the birth of Jesus. From verse 20 we see that Joseph, in whose house the Lord Jesus was born, is “the son of David” (that is, from the house of David). We see that our Lord Jesus Christ was born in the family about which the Scriptures wrote that the Promised One will be born. Also from Matthew 1: 18-25, we see that the birth of the Lord Jesus was fulfilled and the prophecy of Isaiah 7:14, which says, ” a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, “God with us”. (Through this we see again that in the Person of the Lord Jesus, God is with us). According to Mica 5:2 the promised One was to be born in Bethlehem of Judah. Even though Jesus grew up in Nazareth, the city where he lived and his mother until she married (Luke 1: 26-27), yet He was born in Bethlehem of Judah; as we see in the Gospel of Luke according to 2: 1-7.
ConclusionThe Lord Jesus is God incarnate, and as to the flesh, He was born of the seed of David, as prophesied of Him in the Scriptures, and He was born in Bethlehem of Judah, just as prophesied.
In Romans 1: 3-4 the apostle Paul writes that the Gospel of God
“Look upon his Son, born of the seed of David, concerning the flesh, and concerning the spirit of holiness, which is firmly proved to be the Son of God by the resurrection of the dead, that is, Jesus Christ our Lord …”
Here, dear ones, we see how important knowledge is, which we have now found in the proclamation of the Gospel! In fact, the deity of the Lord Jesus must be the core message when we share the Gospel, for only the faith that Jesus is the Son of God and the Christ can save us. And here I would also like to add that faith (from the definition of the word used in Greek) implies knowledge of truths, the recognition of what you have known and the unwavering assurance of the things you have recognized. So you see how important it is to study the Bible. May the Lord help us to persist in studying the Scriptures and to pass on to others the truths that can give life to those who receive them.
How to manage your money so that your family may not suffer?1. Tithing to the Church
God wants us to be in a relationship of worship and gratitude to Him and He left a clear commandment in the Bible that says to bring before Him 10% of all income and this when it will be difficult financially and when it will be good. The money that is brought by Christians at church will be used to spread the Gospel, if it is not of a dirty gain.
2. Him that teaches you the Word of GodIn the Bible we learn to take care of those who teach us the Word of God as saying:
The one who is taught the word is to share all good things with the one who teaches him (Galatians 6:6)(NASB)
3. Those from your house and then relatives
The Apostle Paul wrote:
But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. (1 Timothy 5:8)(NASB)
In this verse God teaches us to take care of our household, or our relatives, those who are close to us, but the priority (especially) those who live together with us, for a man that means the wife and the children. He must take care of them first and fulfill their needs, but to not disregard the needs of others and seek to help them.
4. Brothers of faith and all peopleGod’s Word also says:
So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith. (Galatians 6:10)(NASB)
After bringing our tithes before God, after we share our goods with those who teach us from His Word, after we meet the needs of our household and help our relatives, if we have opportunity, that means if we have the financial possibility to help others, especially our brothers of faith, they have priority.
Do not be manipulatedI do not think that it refers to the case of this man, but I know many men and women who consider themselves good because they give all and never refuse, but for me they are naive and allow being manipulated by those who live unruly life, but who know to extort money from others. Do not be naive and do not give money to those doing no work at all, but acting like busybodies. Through the money you give them you just encourage them to continue in this bad attitude that they have.
Why is it sin to have sex outside of marriage?
Because God created sex for man and woman in marriageThe first two chapters of the Bible tell us about the creation of the world and man. Towards the end of chapter two, it is written:
So the LORD God caused adeep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; then He took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh at that place. The LORD Godfashioned into a womanthe rib which He had taken from the man, and brought her to the man. The man said, “This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh; she shall be calledWoman, becauseshe was taken out ofMan.” For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh. And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed. (Genesis 2:21-25)(NASB)
God created man and woman sexual beings with sexual desires and He determined that these desires must be directed only to the spouse and only within marriage. Note, God said: “Therefore shall a man leave his father and mother and shall cleave to his wife and they shall become one flesh.” It is also important to note that through sexual relationship the two become one body and, as described in other passages in the Bible, who joins himself to a prostitute, which means he has sex with a prostitute (any relationship outside of marriage is fornication) is one body with her. Sexual relation has many emotional and physiological implications, that will seriously affect man for all his life if they are outside of wedlock.
Because God categorically forbids sexual relations outside of marriageGod is the creator of this universe, of man and woman, of sexuality, and as He established physical laws, He also established spiritual laws that must be respected. If you throw a stone upward and ask yourself “Why should I step aside?” the answer is very simple – because otherwise, if you do not step aside, the stone will fall and hit your head. It is a physical law of gravity established by God that must be respected, because it will serve for our good and not for evil. It is the same about sexuality. God established spiritual laws for human sexuality and if those laws are broken, the consequences will not be late. The Bible is full of commandments on human sexual behavior and according to these laws, all sexual relations outside of marriage are prohibited. One of the 10 commandments says:
You shall not commit adultery. (Exodus 20:14)
Because sexual relations are immoral and affect the descendants and the whole nation
In chapter 18 and 20 of the book of Leviticus there are written all sexual relations that are forbidden and then, finally, this important conclusion is drawn:
Do not defile yourselves by any of these things; for by all these the nations which I am casting out before you have become defiled. For the land has become defiled, therefore I have brought its punishment upon it, so the land has spewed out its inhabitants. But as for you, you are to keep My statutes and My judgments and shall not do any of these abominations, neither the native, nor the alien who sojourns among you (for the men of the land who have been before you have done all these abominations, and the land has become defiled); so that the land will not spew you out, should you defile it, as it has spewed out the nation which has been before you. For whoever does any of these abominations, those persons who do so shall be cut off from among their people. Thus you are to keep My charge, that you do not practice any of the abominable customs which have been practiced before you, so as not to defile yourselves with them;I am the LORD your God.’ (Leviticus 18:24-30)(NASB)
It is sad that people see the immorality of others and do not confront it any way until one day they are affected by it or it affects their family and brings great sorrow to all. People who are indifferent to immorality are like one who was on an airplane in flight and though the plane was falling to the ground, he was sitting quietly, as if nothing happened. All people on the plane were in panic, crying, praying how they knew, but our man was sitting quietly until the neighbor asked him:
– Why are you so calm while the plane crashes?
– Is it your plane?
– No, the neighbor said.
– Then, why are you so worried as if it is yours? It is the same with those who are indifferent to immorality around and do not confront it, do not understand this basic truth that this immorality will affect them someday.
Because sexual relations outside of marriage defile you and dishonor marriageGod says:
Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge. (Hebrews 13:4)(NASB)
Fornication is any sexual relationship between persons who are not part of a covenant marriage. If at least one of the persons involved in a sexual relationship is part of another covenant of marriage, this relationship is already called adultery. God says that in the same way He will judge both fornicators and adulterers. So, any sexual relationship before marriage will dishonor your marriage and will defile your marriage bed, i.e. your sexual relationship. Now, think by yourself, is it right to destroy and defile the sexual relationship with your future wife and to lack her for the rest of her life from the joy intended by God for this relationship? Disease, impotence and other bad things will be a consequence of the fornication and adultery of one of the spouses and will affect the other one, too, because they form one body in marriage. Because of the immoralities of one partner, sex will become a torture for both of you. Therefore, not only men should marry only virgins, but girls should get married only to men who kept themselves pure until marriage and know how to refrain their body.
Do not deceive yourself thinking that sexual relations before marriage make you happy… No way. They make unhappy you, the girl with whom you have sex now, your future wife, her future husband, etc. And your children will also suffer from it. But what will parents say if they find out? You will only bring pain to you and others.
Regarding responsibilityYou say that you do not see anything wrong to have sexual relations that do not require any responsibility. It is lack of responsibility towards your future wife or husband, to your children, to your own soul to accept sexual relations outside of marriage.
In this regard I also want to recommend you chapter 5 of the Book of Proverbs, and take heed to the consequences:
My son, give attention to my wisdom, incline your ear to my understanding; that you may observe discretion and your lips may reserve knowledge. For the lips of an adulteress drip honey and smoother than oil is her speech; but in the end she is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword. Her feet go down to death, her steps take hold of Sheol. She does not ponder the path of life; her ways are unstable, she does not know it. Now then, my sons, listen to me and do not depart from the words of my mouth. Keep your way far from her and do not go near the door of her house, or you will give your vigor to others and your years to the cruel one; and strangers will be filled with your strength and your hard-earned goods will go to the house of an alien; and you groan at your final end, when your flesh and your body are consumed; and you say, “How I have hated instruction! And my heart spurned reproof! I have not listened to the voice of my teachers, nor inclined my ear to my instructors! I was almost in utter ruin in the midst of the assembly and congregation.” Drink water from your own cistern and fresh water from your own well. Should your springs be dispersed abroad, streams of water in the streets? Let them be yours alone and not for strangers with you. Let your fountain be blessed, and rejoice in the wife of your youth. As a lovinghind and a graceful doe, let her breasts satisfy you at all times; beexhilarated always with her love. For why should you, my son, be exhilarated with anadulteress and embrace the bosom of aforeigner? For theways of a man are before the eyes of the LORD, and Hewatches all his paths. Hisown iniquities will capture the wicked, and he will be held with the cords of his sin. He willdie for lack of instruction, and in the greatness of his folly he will go astray.(Proverbs 5:1-23)(NASB)
It will be very useful to find and to study the course “The truth about sex” by Kay Arthur. It is an exceptional course which addresses the topic of sexuality in the Bible. The same author wrote the course “Marriage without regrets” that includes a whole chapter dedicated to sexual relations between husband and wife. And the third course, written by the same author is “What does the Bible say about sexuality?”. This is a course consisting of six lessons that can be studied in small groups or school classes. Each lesson takes 40 minutes to be studied in a group.
God keep us from all evil and help us to live with purity and holiness in the end times.
Homosexuality is a sin, not an illnessSociety has thought that homosexual behavior is a mental illness for many years, but people who practice these relations try to prove the contrary. The society is not right when it says that this is an illness. If we look at what God says in the Holy Scripture, we can see how the Creator defines this behavior and He never and nowhere names the homosexual behavior “illness”. In this article, I put down the passages from the Bible, where God defines homosexuality.
Homosexuality is a choice
The first definition is found in the book of Leviticus, when God gives commandments concerning correct sexual behavior of a person and He defines the perversions everyone has to keep himself clear of. Here is what the Creator says:
You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination. (Leveticus 18:22)(NASB)
Illness is something that do not depends upon a person, a person can not control it, and, of course, no one wants to be ill. But here it is an imperative, that says clearly that this behavior depends upon a man’s choice to lie, or not to lie with a male as one lies with a female. So, homosexual behavior is a choice, an abomination and not an illness.
Homosexuality is a learnt practice
At the end of the same chapter, God makes a summary of all perversions that he bans people, His creation to practice and He says:
But as for you, you are to keep My statutes and My judgments and shall not do any of these abominations, neither the native, nor the alien who sojourns among you (for the men of the land who have been before you have done all these abominations, and the land has become defiled); so that the land will not spew you out, should you defile it, as it has spewed out the nation which has been before you. ‘For whoever does any of these abominations, those persons who do so shall be cut off from among their people. Thus you are to keep My charge, that you do not practice any of the abominable customs which have been practiced before you, so as not to defile yourselves with them; I am the LORD your God.’ (Leveticus 18:26–30)(NASB)
All listed sexual perversions, including sodomy are named abominations, that defiles people, society and the whole country, for five times in these few verses. Abomination is something quickly spread and it has a devastating effect, it defiles. Another term that is used here for homosexual relations is “abominable custom”. Not illness. A custom is something that is learnt and one can not get rid of it, it passes to others and it can become acceptable by society, and it was so in the land of Canaan, when God decided to send away those nations defiled by their abominable customs. Illness is not something that is learnt, as homosexual relations are – abominable custom that is learnt. That’s why, it is every person’s duty to do what he/she can to stop this abominable custom, this abomination, so that it may not affect the relatives, friends, children, partner… Here is an evidence of the spreading of this abominable custom, that I have received from a homosexual who commented one of my articles. He writes so:
Take it easy, Mr. Priest! I have had a girlfriend for 3 years, I have sex with her regularly, but I also have a good friend (the best), sometimes we “fondle” each other, I have sex with him, but I use a condom, so there is no chance for AIDS. I like it a lot, I don’t consider myself homosexual, maybe bisexual, but it is my business what I do at home.
How did this young man begin to practice this awful abomination? He doesn’t say he was born so, or that he was ill, etc. In his great passion and being influenced by the “modern thinking”, that says that all is acceptable, he began to practice this custom as a part of his behavior. It is immoral that he has a girlfriend, and they have sex not being married. But, if this girlfiend of his, with whom he lives in adultery, finds out about his other relations, what would she say? Wouldn’t she shudder with horror? Only if she weren’t as “modern” as her partner… It can happen, as long as she can have sex with a man who is not her husband. You can see that homosexual relations are not an illness, but an abomination, an abominable thing and custom that is learnt and goes further very quickly.
Homosexuality is a degrading passion
God adds to the definiton of what is called “untraditional sexual orientation” nowadays, in the Epistle of Paul to Romans. Here is what the Word of God says:
For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. (Romans 1:26–27)(NASB)
So, what people call “untraditional sexual orientation”, it is called “degrading passion” by God. Passion is a bad desire, that seeks to be satisfied no matter what the price, the consequences and the effect upon others are. So are the homosexual relations. When you read the statistics, you are terrified to see the misery this people live in and how much calamity it brings to others. All these organizations and manifestations that “inform” people influence and motivate others to practice these “abominable things”. Further on, in the same text from the Epistle to Romans, God defines the homosexual relations as “unnatural”, because it is natural for a man to have sex with a woman, and not with another man. This is unnatural. So, it is not an illness, it is a perversion, or as it is defined here, in this passage “degrading passion”.
The conclusion one who loves the truth can draw is that homosexual relations are not mental or physical illness, but they are practice chosen by people, they are learnt, they become a custom, they are passed on, spread and lead people to destruction.
God hates this abominable practice, but He loves people who are His creation, but practice these abominations. For God so loves the world, and those who live in these abominable customs,
that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God. (John 3:16–21)(NASB)
May God help us to make wise decisions to walk in light and truth, so that we may not be judged, but have the gift of eternal life.
