    Hi

We are currently using the Enfold theme and every time I try to edit a page (using the advanced layout editor) it just spins and says, “Connection lost. Saving has been disabled until you’re reconnected. We’re backing up this post in your browser, just in case.” I tried researching this myself and figured maybe it was a conflict with the theme and plug-ins? I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but got nothing. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks

    Hey BBM,

Please send us a temporary admin login and login URL so that we can have a closer look. You can post the details in the Private Content section of your reply. Also please point out how and where we can reproduce the problem.

    Best regards,

Thank you! It happens on every single page actually. I can not make changes to any page without getting that notice.

    Hi,

Thanks for that, I tried updating the page in private a few times but I can’t reproduce what you are describing. It works without any problems on my end. Could you try to from a different machine or a different network to see if that helps?

    Best regards,

Thanks for looking! I’ve tried this on a couple different browsers too. It seems to be ok now? Last week I could not work on anything at all without getting that notice. It would just spin and spin saying the connection was lost.

    Hi BBM,

You might want to update to php5.6.3 or php7 and see if the issue remains.

If you need further assistance please let us know.
    Best regards,

I’m working on a page now and when I go to preview it, it now goes to a page that says. “Page isn’t working” and deletes everything I worked on. If I got back to the page it just spins.

We have Legacy Linux which does not support PHP 5.6.3 or 7. Do you have any other recommendations before I’d have to switch my hosting over? I’d like to try and avoid that if possible.

Thanks so much for your help!

    Hi,

I’m not an expert on hosting in any way, but PHP 5.6 is a minimum for running WordPress itself, so if your hosting provider cannot provide at least that then I would recommend you to look for alternatives.

    Dear Support Team

I have the same issue that every time I edit the page (advanced page builder) it will show the connection lost.

my server updates to php7 already.

    Hi vivienne2020,

Please open a new thread and include WordPress admin login details in private so that we can have a closer look at your site. You forgot to include a URL to your site in the reply above.

    Best regards,
    Rikard
