I use a contact form for seminar booking. Unfortunately in the last few weeks in some cases I didn’t receive the E-Mail, although there was the success message “message sent” on the screen, especially when sent from mobile devices. I checked everything several times, but couldn’t find any mistake. What should I do????
Here is the Link to the WebsiteMarch 21, 2018 at 5:31 am #930284Hey Christian,
Sorry for the problems. Did you try to follow this? http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/my-contact-form-is-not-sending-emails/
If that doesn’t work then please post admin login detail in private so that we can have a closer look.
Best regards,
RikardMarch 21, 2018 at 7:31 pm #930796Hi Rikard,
thank you for the support. I installed Contact Form 7 Plugin and everything is working fine up to now :) But I would definitely prefer to use the built in Enfold contact form as the years bevor.
Do you have any idea, what could be wrong???
Best regards, Christian

RikardMarch 22, 2018 at 8:09 am #931090Yes sure! One suggestion was to try Contact Form 7 plugin. And it works :) Although I would prefer to use the built in Enfold contact form.

March 24, 2018 at 3:24 am #932201Hi,
Thank you for the info. Unfortunately, we are not sure what’s causing the issue, yet. Please install this plugin.
// https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/
I tried to install it but the plugins panel requires FTP credentials.

IsmaelMarch 24, 2018 at 10:10 am #932285Done :)
And did you see, that the update-core site shows one update, but all plugins and themes and translations are up to date and nothing could be updated?
Best regards, Christian

March 26, 2018 at 7:09 am #932814Hi,
Please open the (Email address hidden if logged out) email address and then send a test mail to the same address. Look for email header settings. You’ll probably find it in the “More Options” button depends on the email software that you’re using. Look for the “View Source” option. It should look something like this.
From - Mon Mar 26 12:59:38 2018 X-Account-Key: account X-UIDL: 00000000 X-Mozilla-Status: 0001 X-Mozilla-Status2: 00000000 X-Mozilla-Keys: Return-Path: < (Email address hidden if logged out) > X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 3.4.1 (2015-04-28) on dd31924.server.com X-Original-To: < (Email address hidden if logged out) > Delivered-To: (Email address hidden if logged out) Received: from [192.168.1.3] (unknown [49.146.44.112]) by dd31924.server.com (Postfix) with ESMTPSA id 0000000 for < (Email address hidden if logged out) >; Mon, 26 Mar 2018 06:59:34 +0200 (CEST) To: (Email address hidden if logged out) From: My Name < (Email address hidden if logged out) >> Subject: Test Message-ID: < (Email address hidden if logged out) > Date: Mon, 26 Mar 2018 12:59:17 +0800 User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:52.0) Gecko/20100101 Thunderbird/52.6.0 MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Language: en-US X-KasLoop: 00000000 Test
Or ask your hosting provider for the Outgoing Server or SMTP settings. If you have the time, set it up in the WP Mail SMTP panel or post the SMTP info in the private field and we’ll set it up for you.

IsmaelMarch 28, 2018 at 10:44 am #934108Here are the SMTP settings (see Private Content)
Would you be so kind to set it up correctly in the WP Mail SMTP panel?
Thank you very much :)March 29, 2018 at 2:41 pm #934830Hi,
Thank you for the info. We configured the SMTP settings but it still requires authentication. Please provide the SMTP Username which is usually the email address and the password. Test the contact form again afterwards.
If the contact form is still not working, please adjust the port to 587 or 25.

thank you for the support. I completed and corrected the settings in the WP Mail SMTP panel. Sending the test e-mail was succesful :) Now I will ask the persons, who had problems with the contact form on my site, to send a test message, and we’ll see if everything is working properly! Good luck…
Best regards,
ChristianMarch 29, 2018 at 10:28 pm #935010I’m very sorry… but it still isn’t working properly… From some mobile devices I receive messages and from some devices not…
I cannot work with the built in contact form, I am sorry.
Think about buying a plugin like Quform and hope, that it will work…
Do you have any further ideas??

ChristianMarch 30, 2018 at 12:12 pm #935261Hi Ismael,
I installed the Quform Plugin and created a new form. The same error….
A friend of mine got a question after pushing the submit button: “Do you want to download a file?” He klicked yes and got the question “Do you want to install a file extension? Otherwise the file will be damaged”
With my sons and my own mobile phone and my Mac everything works perfectly.
This sound not very good…
Do you have any idea???

ChristianMarch 30, 2018 at 12:32 pm #935271Hi,
Quite odd that the test was successful but it’s not sending emails. Please provide the complete FTP and WP details in the private field. I think the FTP details above is incomplete. We’ll try to debug the issue further.
Please use the Contact Form 7 plugin temporarily.

Is this what you asked for? See private content
Could the plugin “Antispam Bee” cause the error?

ChristianApril 2, 2018 at 2:13 am #935855Hi,
We’re asking for the FTP and WP login credentials. We would like to do some tests. Yes, please disable the plugin temporarily then test the contact form again.

Maybe there might be the problem?April 3, 2018 at 3:26 am #936270Hi,
I can’t reproduce the same error. We changed the from address to ” (Email address hidden if logged out) “. Please test the contact form again. (see private field)
// change from address add_filter('avf_form_from', 'avf_form_from_mod', 10, 3); function avf_form_from_mod($from, $new_post, $form_params) { $from = " (Email address hidden if logged out) "; return $from; }

IsmaelApril 5, 2018 at 3:49 pm #937786Hi Ismael,
some news :)
The error is only with Yahoo Mail adresses! Yahoo rejects the sent mail to puremind.de. See private content… Yahoo is working on that DMARC stuff because there are many problems with mailing lists. Google knows more about that.
So I think, it is not a problem of my WordPress installation or the Enfold Theme or one of the plugins. What do you mean?
And for me to know: Where did you change the from adress?
Best regards,
ChristianApril 7, 2018 at 5:01 am #938476Hi,
Thank you for the info.
We changed the “From” address in the functions.php file. If I am not mistaken, that should take care of the DMARC policy issue. Please try to send a message from a yahoo address. If this is not working, edit the filter and adjust the “from” value from ” (Email address hidden if logged out) ” email to ” (Email address hidden if logged out) “.
Create a test page using the theme’s contact form so that we can inspect the email field. We’ll forward the value of that field as the Reply-to header.
add_filter( 'avf_form_mail_header', 'avf_form_mail_header_mod', 10, 3 ); function avf_form_mail_header_mod( $header, $post, $params ) { $header .= 'Reply-To: ' . $post['email'] . '\r\n'; return $header; }
Best regards,
IsmaelApril 8, 2018 at 9:40 am #938745Hi Ismael,
I made the changes but unfortunately it’s not working… Sending a Mail from (Email address hidden if logged out) to (Email address hidden if logged out) is not possible. There’s no message in the inbox of (Email address hidden if logged out) because it’s rejected and sent back to the Yahoo account. And even worse: The auto response message in the inbox of (Email address hidden if logged out) is absolutely correct and it seems, that everything works properly :-(
I found this page: https://yahoomail.tumblr.com/post/82426900353/yahoo-dmarc-policy-change-what-should-senders Maybe it could help?
Up to now, I don’t know, what to do…
Best regards,
ChristianApril 10, 2018 at 6:56 am #939602Hi,
Create a test page using the theme’s contact form so that we can inspect the email field. We’ll forward the value of that field as the Reply-to header.
We haven’t specified the “Reply-to” header yet. Please provide the link to a test page with the theme’s contact form so that we can set the email field as the “Reply-to” header value.
Best regards,

April 12, 2018 at 3:50 am #940740Hi,
Alright. We modified the “from” and “reply-to” address. We also removed the email address text from the body or message. Please try the contact form in the test page again. Don’t forget to purge the cache prior to the test. ( see private field )
// change from address add_filter('avf_form_from', 'avf_form_from_mod', 10, 3); function avf_form_from_mod($from, $new_post, $form_params) { $from = " (Email address hidden if logged out) "; return $from; } add_filter( 'avf_form_mail_header', 'avf_form_mail_header_mod', 10, 3 ); function avf_form_mail_header_mod( $header, $post, $params ) { $header .= 'Reply-To: ' . $post['2_1'] . '\r\n'; return $header; } add_action( 'phpmailer_init', 'phpmailer_init_mod' ); function phpmailer_init_mod( $phpmailer ) { // fetch body and remove the email address $body = $phpmailer->Body; $pattern = '/[a-z0-9_\-\+\.]+@[a-z0-9\-]+\.([a-z]{2,4})(?:\.[a-z]{2})?/i'; preg_match_all($pattern, $body, $matches); $email = $matches[0]; $newbody = str_replace($email, "Hidden Due to DMARC Policy", $body); $phpmailer->Body = $newbody; // set from and fromname $phpmailer->From = " (Email address hidden if logged out) "; $phpmailer->FromName = "Puremind"; }

IsmaelApril 12, 2018 at 7:49 am #940800Hi Ismael,
thank you for your help. So far, the test was successful. It is possible to send messages with my Yahoo account.
BUT:
Because the e-mail-address is hidden or rather replaced, I don’t know, who sent the message to me!! This is useless for me. I have to answer the participants of my workshops. How should I do that without their e-mail-addresses?
The from-address is now ” (Email address hidden if logged out) “. Every auto response message comes with this address and for me this is a misleading statement. It has to be the correct address ” (Email address hidden if logged out) ” to allow to reply to my Puremind account.
If there is any theme update, all the adjustments are overwritten and gone, is that right? Isn’t it neccessary to set up a child theme to keep the changes?
Best regards

April 12, 2018 at 8:53 am #940812I received a workshop registration and I cannot answer the recipiant and don’t know his e-mail-address. I have to remove the changes you made in the functions page to fix this problem quickly. Sorry about that…
