Hello, I tried finding something in here to answer but either a)got confused or b) didn’t find it. Apologies if this is repeat traffic.

I updated to Enfold 4.2.6 earlier today. My website now isn’t showing: The message is:

Fatal error: Can’t use function return value in write context in /…wp-content/themes/enfold/header.php on line 6

I read something about php version needing to be 7.X but I haven’t a clue how to even check – let alone change it if necessary.

Is there any help on this possible?

    Richard

    Hi Richard,

You can go to wp-content/themes/enfold/ and replace header.php file with this one – https://www.dropbox.com/s/r389b5x4ippscyn/header.php?dl=0 via FTP to solve the issue as well.
If you need assistance, please post FTP logins here privately so we can replace it for you :)

Should I be updating to php7?

    Hi,

Not necessarily but we would recommend it. Please also check out this post – https://kinsta.com/blog/php-7-hhvm-benchmarks/

    You are welcome! :)

For your information, you can take a look at Enfold documentation here – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/
And if there are features that you wish Enfold had, you can request them and vote the requested ones here – https://kriesi.at/support/enfold-feature-requests/
For any other questions or issues, feel free to start new threads under Enfold sub forum and we will gladly try to help you :)

    Best regards,
    Yigit
