I’m incredibly frustrated with the Enfold Theme update that I just performed. This is the 2nd time I have performed an update and my admin login page was unavailable. The first time this happened, the update process corrupted some files and left parts of my website unavailable. I had to use FTP to complete the update instead of being able to use the WordPress update dashboard.

How can this be addressed going forward with all updates??

Sorry to hear. Are you using Go Daddy as your web hosting provider?

    #909454

Yes, they are my hosting provider

I guessed that because when I had Go Daddy this was happening to me constantly it seemed with updating themes and plugins. Stuck maintenance screens, HTTP errors you name it. I held my breath every time. Suggest you consider switching to a better hosting provider. Since I changed I have had zero issues and I never fear updates the way I did with GD.

Yea, I’m sure that will be a decision to make in the near future. BUT, how can I remedy this issue in the meantime? I’m quite honestly tired of getting files corrupted and having to result to FTP to update elements of my website.

I’ll leave that up to the mods… I’m sure they will tell you to check for plugin conflicts… maybe disable all plugins before the next update… but frankly until you get away from GD, you’re going to run into lots of issues. Check the GD forums and you’ll see others having the same issues. Good luck.

    Hi gdu2017,

We are very sorry for the incovencience, however at the moment since the issue is more on the host where your website resides, the alternate solution we can suggest to update the Enfold theme is to update it via ftp. For more information regarding it you can check our documentation: https://kriesi.at/archives/the-complete-guide-to-updating-enfold

    Best regards,

How can you exactly decipher that it’s simply our hosting?
I updated wordpress and my other plugins and didn’t have this issue.
Only when I updated the Enfold theme specifically, did I get this error.
Can you please advise and give me a clear answer as to why it’s simply just my hosting?

    Hi,

It’s very difficult to say exactly what is going wrong, did you check the server logs during the time you updated? I think that is the only way we can tell what could be going wrong.

    Best regards,
    Rikard
