I’d like to take several portfolio items created and turn them into pages so that sidebars can be used for easy page navigation as I was told the anchors would not work for what we’re trying to accomplish. Is there an easy “how to” on this subject?

    Hey Cassandra,

Could you please give us a link to your website, we need more context to be able to help you.
I see the credentials, but there is no link there.

    Best regards,
    Victoria

My apologies. Find the website in the private content form.

    Hi Cassandra,

Could you please attach a mockup of what you’re trying to achieve?
Which page should I be looking at? I looked at a portfolio item and it is set to not have a sidebar, you can change it there and then assign the links you need to the sidebar.

    Best regards,

    Hello Victoria,

If you’re the same Victoria I worked with on the exact same initiative, perhaps the info below will ring a bell.

    Hi Cassandra,

You’re talking about anchors, the link that take you to a section of the page, those are page specific and are done in a different way. You will need to build a separate menu for this page and not use portfolio items, but use section ids to where these anchors should go to.
Here is the basics of how to create anchors https://www.wendycholbi.com/anchor-links-jump-links/
But your case is a bit more complex.

    Hi Cassandra,

Yes, I wrote that, and it is still not clear to me what you’re trying to achieve. Would be much more clear if you showed us the design, of course, if you have it. Does your portfolio item has a lot f of text and you need the in-page navigation or what is the purpose of the links?

    Best regards,
    Victoria

    Hi,

There is a plugin that can convert any custom post types to another.
