    Hello,

    i’m trying to change the “read more” in a blog overview to a dutch version. When I have a single-language Dutch site this works fine and already shows the Dutch translation of “read more”, when using polylang I get the english string when the dutch language is set. Any advice?

    Hey elvirais,

    Thank you for using Enfold.

    Maybe, the string is not translated in the dutch language file. Please use the following plugin so that you can translate the string manually.

    // https://wordpress.org/plugins/loco-translate/

    You can uninstall it once you’re finished with the translation.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    No, I checked using that plugin and it is translated. It shows up e.g. in a single language Dutch wordpress installation with enfold, but not in an Enfold + polylang Dutch / English website.

    Hi,

    Check if the plugin has its own “lang” directory or folder. Please contact the plugin author for more info.

    I’m talking about the “read more” that shows up in the enfold blog… polylang is a language plugin like wpml, it doesn’t need its own language files (well except for its own admin interface).

    Ok I may have found the bug. When I installed a wordpress set to the dutch language, and then installed enfold, the blog “read more” is displayed in dutch. But when i install wordpress, default english, then install enfold and then switch the wordpress language to dutch, the read more remains in english.

    Maybe Enfold doesn’t check languages changes after its install?

    Hi,

    I’m glad that you figured out the issue. I’m not really issue why that happens but maybe, the “WPLANG” option is cached. Please try to install WordPress in English again then switch to Dutch. In the database, check for the “WPLANG” in the “_options” table.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Trying that… I’ve been changing the WPLANG setting in the database. The admin section of the site switches nicely between the languages, but Enfold remains showing the “Read more” in english no matter what language i select. So I think it’s a bug.

    Hi,

    Odd. Anyway, it’s working now. Please let us know if you encounter another issue.

    Ah no it doesn’t work… the Enfold blog “read more” is never translated. Can you tell me where the code for that part is? I’ll take a look there.

    Hi,

    It is located in the includes > loop-index.php file. The string should be translated automatically. Please contact the plugin author. There must be something in the plugin that overrides the theme’s language files.

    Ismael

    Contacting the plugin author, in the meantime i’ll be hand-coding the dutch language as a temporary workaround. I’ve edited the read more in the file you mentioned, but that only changed the read more text do dutch in one of the views (not the grid one): (private link below)

    Hi,

    For the grid style, you should modify the config-templatebuilder > avia-shortcodes > postslider.php file.

    Hello
    I have the same problem like @elvirais. Enfold translation works automatically. But if I use Polylang to translate the website in another language, the Read More Button does not change. There is no string entry in Polylang for this button…

    Is this a plugin error? Something new on translating the Read More Button using Polylang?

    Thanks for an reply and best regards

    Hi,

    Thank you for the inquiry.

    Which language did you translate the site to? Please check install the Loco Translate plugin, search for the string or text and then try to translate it manually. You can also use the POEdit software if you prefer.

    // https://wordpress.org/plugins/loco-translate/

    Please create a new thread when you have the time. Thank you.

    Best regards,
    Ismael
