I have several licenses of Enfold. At one of my websites that currently run version 3.0.4 I can’t update to the latest version 4.1.
I have tried to check updates manually but it doesn’t prompt an update. The API-Key is valid.
What shall I do?
September 26, 2017 at 2:40 pm #856939Hey upperhand,
Can you give us temporary admin access to your website in the private content box below, so that we can have a closer look?
You can login to your ThemeForest account, download a zip and upload it via FTP.Best regards,
VictoriaSeptember 26, 2017 at 3:24 pm #856970Hi Victoria, I have attached the login in the private content box below.
Thanks / Björn

Thanks for the details, though I can’t see a URL for your site? Did you try to update manually like Victoria recommended?

Can you please look into this now?
October 3, 2017 at 9:08 pm #859791Hi,
From what I can imagine it is:
1. API keys are messed up, so the update can not go through
2. Your Hosting Provider is blocking the Envato UpdaterOne of those must be happening.
Check it out pleaseBest regards,
BasilisOctober 4, 2017 at 8:56 am #860031Hi Basilis,
Have you checked the site I provide the login for?
1. The API keys has remained the same from start so this shouldn’t be a problem.
2. There is no block by my hosting server provider. I just updated Enfold from 4.02 to the latest version on a domain that are hosted at the same service provider. The site I provided login for is currently running Enfold version 3.0.4.This is a major problem. I’ll include the login to the WordPress panel in the private content area so that you can have a look.
October 5, 2017 at 5:35 am #860407Hi,
You have to update the theme manually via FTP. Please get a fresh copy of the theme from your themeforest account then override the old version.
// http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/portfolio-item/update-theme-files-with-ftp/
There should be no reason why you won’t be able to update it manually via FTP.

IsmaelOctober 5, 2017 at 9:44 am #860498Hi Ismael,
If I do this via FTP can I be sure to do this without affecting the existing web structure or content? One of these websites have more than 100 pages and it would be devastating if anything went wrong!
Another question, why do I have this problem in the first place?
Thanks / Björn
October 6, 2017 at 5:44 pm #861097I’m having this same issue. Most other sites I use on the same host auto-update automatically, except this ONE website. I’m trying to figure it out with the host right now. Likewise, I’d rather not do it via FTP, should be a pretty simple function of this theme.
October 7, 2017 at 2:49 am #861238Hi,
As long as you didn’t modify any of the theme files, updating via FTP is perfectly safe. The settings or theme options are saved in the database so it’s not going to be affected. However, it’s safer to create a backup of the site before doing the update. Please ask your hosting provider to create a backup if you’re not familiar with it.
Best regards,
Ismael -
