Hello,
On our site, users must register to leave a comment or a review on a product. Yesterday, when I went into Incognito mode to test this, I was time and time again directed to a wordpress login rather than the login page for ‘Returning User’ or ‘Register an Account’ — this was on both safari and chrome
However, when I went to another computer in the office, it did take me to the correct screen.
Is this simply because of ip address recognizing me as an admin or is there a bug of sorts I need to address?
Also, as far as user registration goes, I am getting a lot of spam users. Any suggestions on fixing this?
Hey npmcgrew,
I’m not sure what that could be but it sounds like caching to me, don’t think it’s related to our product.
What type of protection against spam do you have on the site?
Best regards,
Rikard
I am using Akismet Anti-Spam, Cimy User Manager, Jetpack and Wordfence. I’m wondering if it could be the WP-FB Autoconnect, but the spam users don’t seem to be associated with a Facebook account.
Any thoughts?
Hi,
It is not the IP address, that cant be true at all.
There is no such functionality to WordPress.
Regarding the spam, there is no way to block them we are afraid, you can try get your site under CloudFlare for example, it will solve some of those issues.
Best regards,
