Can I add a map using the Google Maps Widget Pro plugin’s shortcode to a post using avia advanced layout builder?
The way I’ve made it work in the past is by creating an Appearance > Widgets: Widget area and placing the G Maps widget in it and then in the page with Avia advanced layout using the Widget Area element.
I have many posts needing a single map, each page uses a different map. It would be very inconvenient to make a separate “widget area” for each Google Maps Widget Pro map widget.
If this is the only way it can be accomplished, would it bog down my website performance?
Thanks for your ongoing help, it’s much appreciated.
Hey Jagrav,
I’m not sure if I’m misunderstanding you here, but why don’t you use the Google Maps element which is already part of the builder?
Best regards,
Rikard
Google Maps Widget Pro has more features than the Google Map element. I can make a smaller map in a post and when the visitor press/clicks it – it opens a bigger map in a lightbox. There’s other features too, but that’s why I tend to use GMWP.
The problem is I don’t know how to add GMWP to a post that’s using the Avia advanced layout editor other than with the Widget Area element. I would rather use the GMWP shortcode and place it in one of the other Avia elements (code block, text block) if possible, or use a work around.
Hi,
Ok, thanks for the feedback. So the plugin provides shortcode for you? If so then I would try to use it in a Code Block element to see if works.
Best regards,
Rikard
Thanks for your help. The “Code Block Element” works perfectly for plugin “shortcodes.”
