    Hi,

I just purchased, downloaded and installed the latest version of Enfold Theme (4.1.2). I installed it manually via FTP, as there was some issue with the direct installation via WordPress interface – after uploading the original zip file downloaded from Themeforest it would give an error message and ask for permission to re-upload, and it kept going so.

After activating the theme, I got the following message:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /home/content/c/u/r/currolaca/html/wordpress/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-layerslider/LayerSlider/classes/class.ls.popups.php on line 173
Now I can’t access my admin panel.
When trying to just visit my webpage, I get this other message:
Fatal error: Declaration of avia_sc_comments_list::shortcode_handler() must be compatible with that of aviaShortcodeTemplate::shortcode_handler() in /home/content/c/u/r/currolaca/html/wordpress/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/comments.php on line 14

I checked in your support forums and this seems to be happening to several other people. After going through several threads and proposed solutions, I couldn’t find a final problem solver action – the most common proposed solution was to update the PHP version and after checking with my internet provider (GoDaddy), it seems they have version 5.6 as a default, so that should not be the issue.

I’m also not a software engineer or computer savvy person, so I’d need some help with this problem.

I have included all necessary info for access to my website, login, FTP, etc in private. Let me know if you need any further info/action from my side to help solve the problem asap.

Thanks in advance for your help

    Hi Curro,

Thanks for providing that, you are using an outdated version of php 5.2.17, can you try to ask you host to upgrade it to atleast 5.6. Hope this helps.

    Hi, Nikko

thanks for your prompt reply and help. I double checked the PHP version on my GoDaddy account and was surprised to see that – as opposed to 2 days ago, when I opened the topic and mentioned that PHP 5.6 was in place according to the info on my GoDaddy account – now I had more options showing there, one of them being upgrading my PHP from 5.2 (current) to 5.6. I did so and the problem was solved.

Thanks so much for your help and apologies for what might seem like a waste of time but I really did check the PHP version before opening the topic and it clearly showed 5.6 installed. Don’t know how or why that changed.

In any case, solved. Thanks a lot again for your help.

    Best,

    Curro

    Hi Curro,

No worries. I’m not really sure why you see it as 5.6 maybe the hosting provider can answer to that. Glad that it’s fixed and we are happy to help you :)

    Best regards,
    Nikko
