I’m having problems with text boxes in enfold. It’s erratic but quite frequently the text does not save.
You can’t use the cross to quit and the only way out is to leave the page and you lose all the changes. I have tried putting clean code in the box and sometimes this works but not always.
I’m using a text box in a layout element. I have tried deleting the boxes and starting again but it makes no difference. It’s alos doing it on most pages.
It’s getting really frustrating! I’m a new user to wordpress and enfold so simple replies hugely appreciated :-)
Any help ???
September 3, 2017 at 11:51 pm #847488Hey sussexmartlets,
This sometimes happens when your hosting is using an old version of PHP or you have low memory, less that 256m. Both of which can easily be fixed with an email to your host. Yet sometimes it other things like a plugin conflict, if you let us take a look we could advise better.
Please post us your login credentials (in the “private data” field), so we can take a look at your backend.- Install and activate ” Temporary Login Without Password “.
- Go to ” Users > Temporary Logins ” on the left-side menu.
- Click ” Create New “.
- Add the email address for the account ( you can use (Email address hidden if logged out) ), as well as the ” Role ” making that the highest possible and the expiry about four days
( do be sure that we have enough time to debug ). - Click ” Submit “.
- You’ll now have a temporary account. Please provide us here in the private section the URL, so we can login and help you out.
When your issue is fixed, you can always remove the plugin!
If you prefer to not use the plugin, you can manually create a admin user and post the login credentials in the “private data” field.Best regards,

Thanks for the login details, on what page can we reproduce the issue?
Best regards,
RikardSeptember 5, 2017 at 8:02 am #847989I was most recently on the competitions page and it was happening nearly every time I added or amended a text box.
September 7, 2017 at 4:50 pm #849155Hi,
I just wondered if you had looked at the text box issue?
September 8, 2017 at 6:47 am #849411Hi,
I created a test page but I can’t reproduce the issue. Also, the “competitions” page is working properly as well. ( see private field )
Please try to increase the WP_MEMORY_LIMIT to at least 256M then upgrade PHP to 5.6 or later versions.
Best regards,
IsmaelSeptember 8, 2017 at 8:09 am #849462I have just looked at the test page and you have reproduced the issue.
The text box under animated countdown worked fine when I amended it. When I changed the first text box under the table it didn’t save the changes and when I went back into it again you just get the same issue, you can’t amend and save the text. So the test page you set up is having exactly the same problem as I am having on the other pages.
What happens when you try to change the wording in the text boxes? Does it save? Can you go in and change again? Please could you let me know as it is definitely not saving the changes and the only way to close the box ix to click the view site tab at the top and choose to leave the page.
I don’t understand if we are working on the same site from the same server if it is only happening for me and not you? I have also tried different browsers and it doesn’t make any difference.
This is causing a issue for me now as I can’t progress with the site.
Please could you let me know asap.
Many thanks
September 8, 2017 at 9:08 am #849491Hi,
The issue is caused by the “Live Composer” plugin. You can’t change the text until the plugin scripts have finished loading. It still works if you wait for a few seconds before changing the text. I managed to changed the text with or without the plugin but when the plugin is activated, I have to wait for for the “Live Composer” plugin. Please contact the plugin author or deactivate the plugin completely.
Best regards,
Ismael -
