I’m trying to make a few simple changes to some pages and for 2 pages I’m getting 403 errors when I click the Update button to save the changes. I’ve logged out many times and tried many times but keep getting the same error.
August 26, 2017 at 12:39 pm #844336Hey databuzz,
Please post us your login credentials (in the “private data” field), so we can take a look at your backend.
- Install and activate ” Temporary Login Without Password “.
- Go to ” Users > Temporary Logins ” on the left-side menu.
- Click ” Create New “.
- Add the email address for the account ( you can use (Email address hidden if logged out) ), as well as the ” Role ” making that the highest possible and the expiry about four days
( do be sure that we have enough time to debug ). - Click ” Submit “.
- You’ll now have a temporary account. Please provide us here in the private section the URL, so we can login and help you out.
When your issue is fixed, you can always remove the plugin!
If you prefer to not use the plugin, you can manually create a admin user and post the login credentials in the “private data” field.Best regards,
NikkoAugust 28, 2017 at 12:55 am #844592Please find login details in the private content. Seems to happen most when adding text and pasting in a few paragraphs of text then trying to update the page.
August 28, 2017 at 6:32 pm #844953Hi,
Thanks for providing the admin access, I edited this page (private content) by duplicating the promo box at the bottom and updating it and it was successful, I have removed it and updated again. Is this already fixed?
Best regards,
NikkoAugust 29, 2017 at 12:51 am #845126Try adding a new text block with the following content (private content) and then saving that – this is when I see the error. You can see I’ve started one already (2nd last text block) but haven’t been able to save it. If I type a few words then update the page that does work most of the time but not when I paste in these paragraphs and update the page – 403 error.
September 1, 2017 at 7:22 am #846641Hi,
Thanks for telling us how to reproduce it, I was able to add the question and the last paragraph but adding the longer text it also gives me 403, Can you try disabling all security plugins as it might be interfering with it, then check if the issue is gone, try to enable it again and adjust some settings on those security plugins.
Best regards,
NikkoSeptember 1, 2017 at 10:03 am #846758Hi,
I disabled the security plugin as well as the theme checker plugin and still having this issue. I can’t save the text block with this particular content for some reason?
Any other ideas to try?
Thanks

Can you try the suggestion here: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/failed-to-load-resource-the-server-responded-with-a-status-of-403-forbidden/#post-798773

NikkoSeptember 4, 2017 at 9:23 am #847603Hi Nikko,
I’ve just tried making the changes from that post (wasn’t sure which one you were referring to, so tried changing the memory limit and going back to an older backup).
I’m still getting the 403 errors unfortunately – I noticed at the end of that post that they were still experiencing the problems even with higher memory limits and no plugins enabled. Sounds like something else is going on here?
thanks
September 4, 2017 at 4:06 pm #847803Hi,
I’m not really sure what’s causing the issue, 403 is a security issue but I also couldn’t figure out what’s causing it. For the meantime can you try the suggestions here: http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-fix-the-403-forbidden-error-in-wordpress/
Best regards,
