please let me know how i can MUTE the background video. with code or setting somewhere.
thanks!

Jordan ShannonAugust 20, 2017 at 1:40 am #841519hey there, jordan.
this wasn’t very much help. but thanks anyway.
i never un-muted the audio. i checked the section.php and it is already “true” for video_mute.
what would make it play with audio once in a blue moon?
thanks,
chris
August 20, 2017 at 9:13 pm #841760Hi,
The only reason that makes sense is this statement from Vimeo:The volume of the player is a setting that follows a user around the web, whether they’re on vimeo.com or viewing an embedded player. The way our player is built, if you change the volume on one Vimeo player, it affects subsequent viewings elsewhere.
Your site seems to be using Vimeo, are the background videos also?

MikeAugust 20, 2017 at 9:22 pm #841763all are vimeo. yes.
August 20, 2017 at 10:45 pm #841777August 20, 2017 at 11:22 pm #841790Hey there. I don’t think the statement you found has anything at all to do with the sound from ANY background video intermittently playing audio on a page using your theme.
Vimeo is simply stating that on the user’s end, the volume setting you last used in a Vimeo player on a given web site will carry over to other web sites with Vimeo players.
So what’s the deal? Why would that matter? The audio is supposedly MUTED on the code side of the site. Any volume settings mean nothing…
Well … if we have no real answer for why this is happening … let’s close the ticket.
Thanks
