    Hello.
    What I want to change text of read more button in blog from “les mer” to english “read more”. To do this I tried to change default language of page from Norwegian to English. When i do this, page loads, but nothing changes. I tried all solutions I found in forum to change text on “read more” button, but nothing works.

    Why can I not change default language to english in wordpress?
    – I tried to download WPML plugin and when this is active and english is chosen av main language, “les mer” button appears ad desired in english as “read more”. I dont want WPML, so I deleted this. But though you should know what happened when I tried to use it.

    Thanks for the login details, though you still have your installation running Norwegian. How can we reproduce the problem?

    Go to “innstillinger” (settings). Try to change “Nettstedspråk” (site language) to English.

    Hi,

    Thanks, I mostly wanted to check with you if it was ok if we change it. I did, though I’m not sure which page you are using as your blog? I checked the page in private and that seems ok after I changed the language.

    This is the page were blog is used ( private content ). As you can see it is still in Norwegian. Menu is still in Norwegian, and site language is still set to Norwegian.

    Hi,

    Thanks for that, but the site language is back to Norwegian again and nothing seems to happen when I try to change it to english. I’m not sure what is going with that to be honest with you. Maybe you could try to reinstall WordPress in the Dashboard?

    Hi,

    Ok, thanks for the feedback. Did you try deactivating all plugins to see if there is conflict coming from any of them? This is general WordPress issue so I’m afraid we can only offer you general debugging options.

    Yes, tried that earlier with no luck. But can you not help me change “les mer” on “about us” page to some other text either? Thats really all I am trying to achieve. I dont really have to change site language.
