    Hi there,
    just entered my Layer Slider WP purchase code, because I want to use the premium features.

    Can’t save changes anymore, save button shows “Error”. System status reporting: “Using LayerSlider from a non-standard install location or having a different directory name could lead issues in receiving and installing updates. Commonly, you see this issue when you’re using a theme-included version of LayerSlider. ”

    There is a very old thread suggesting to add “add_theme_support( ‘deactivate_layerslider’ );” to the childs theme functions.php.

    This is working, but I’m wondering if this will be the best solution when handing out the site to my client for further customisation.

    Pretty good chance to mess things up, then ;) The slider options disappeared from you pagebuilders media elements section and they are used to work with the demos to c&p stuff into their site.

    With Layer Slider Plugin installed separately f. e. you can’t copy the 2017 demo frontpage because you have to use a text field to type in the slider shortcode, then the layout is messed up because the sidebar is still visible and so on…

    Any ideas or a workaround on this?

    Or ist it impossible to use the premium features with the built in Layer silder?

    Thanks and best regards.

    Hi fellsys,

    I think this kind of question should be also addressed to the Layer Slider team. Why just entering the license code does not work. I would definitely ask them.

    Hi Victoria,

    the error message absolutely makes sense as Layer Slider WP will not be found at its default position when installing Enfold. So the license check ist right to moan about this.

    Am I the first and only one trying to use the premium features of layer slider with Enfold?

    What happens, when you try to activate the purchase code in one of your dev- or testing setups?

    I just noticed today there’s a message saying “It seems you’ve received LayerSlider by a theme. Please note, the activation only works if you’ve purchased LayerSlider directly from Kreatura.”

    I did not notice that before.

    I think that’s a business or developer thing between kriesi.at and the layer slider people, no stuff a user should care for.

    The question seems to be if it’s possible to use Layer Slider Premium features with Enfold in general?

    My client clearly stated: I want you to set up Enfold and Layer Slider fully featured. This includes the locked and so called premium featurs within your bundled version like direct support, revisions, the premium slider templates and more.

    I never thought, I had to ask this as a presale question to you, as with all other premium themes like Porto and so on there’s absolutely no such problem. And i never read about a not fully functional version of layer slider on the themeforest site.

    Do you still need my cloned site for testing? Otherwise I will shut it down.

    Thanks for chiming in here.

    Best regards

    Hey Carsten,

    Please firstly refer to this post – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/deactivate-the-layerslider-plugin/ and deactivate bundled LayerSlider and then install LayerSlider premium version as a standalone plugin and then insert your purchase code to activate it. That should solve the issue.
    Since this requires access to LayerSlider premium version, i could not proceed :)

    In case you would like us to do it for you, please install it but do not activate it :)

    Hi Yigit,
    Please see first post of mine, I allready did this for testing purpose.

    As the Layer Slider button at media elements in the enfold layout editor has disappeared when using the “add_theme_support( ‘deactivate_layerslider’ );” workaround I have to use a 1/1 grid with a text element to put in the slider id. Or did I overlook something?

    This messes up the ransparancy in the header and some other css related to the sidebar. You can see this at the demo site. Link is in the private section.

    The client will perform excessive copy & paste and will use your 2017 demo frontpage layout for his own pages – so I’ll be in trouble again because it’s not the expected behaviour.

    As there will be, at least I guess so, no other solution to stick with the built in plugin and use premium features at the same time, could you please provide me with some hints or a css fix, to reproduce the 2017 demo frontpage.

    Thanks in advance.
    Best regards

    Hi Carsten,

    I places your shortcode into a Color Section element with no padding and then added following code to Quick CSS in Enfold theme options under General Styling tab

    .container.ls-overflow-visible {
        padding-top: 0!important;
    }

    Please review your website :)

    Best regards,

    Hi Yigit,

    this is pretty cool. I didn’t try the color section.

    Thanks for providing me with the css snippet. Seems to be working fine.

    Thanks for your support.
