Hi,
How can I find my API key?
This guide does not help me: http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/Is the API the same as the purchase code?
Thanks in advance.
June 14, 2017 at 8:52 pm #808201Hi Camilla!
We could have continued here – https://kriesi.at/support/topic/api-key-5/#post-808194 :)
Let us stick to this one. Firstly, which API key would you like to know? The one you insert in Enfold theme options > Theme Update that lets you automatically update the theme ( http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/ ) or the on in Enfold theme options > Google Services tab that inserts Google Maps API key ( http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-register-a-google-maps-api-key/ )?
API key is not the same as purchase code.
Best regards,

I thought you asked me to open a new request and refer to the link.
Sorry about that.I get your point – there are different API keys :-)
I am looking for the first one you mentioned: “The one you insert in Enfold theme options > Theme Update that lets you automatically update the theme”.June 14, 2017 at 9:05 pm #808209Is it as simple as to generate an API key at themeforest?
I have two licenses to enfold – can I then just generate two API keys..?When I enter the ThemeForest username and the API key, it says that everything is good “alright sparky! [etc]”.
Even if the API key is incorrect. So I can’t see if I did it right…Hope it makes sense :-)
June 14, 2017 at 9:07 pm #808211Also, one website shows this message:
Theme Updates
No Updates available. You are running the latest version! (3.8.5)
Check Manually
Another this one:
Theme UpdatesNo Updates available. You are running the latest version! (4.0.5)
Check Manually
I suppose 3.8.5. is not the latest version, when the other one is running 4.0.5?
June 14, 2017 at 9:56 pm #808254Hi,
No worries at all :)
Yes, it is as simple as to generate an API key on ThemeForest and inserting it in Enfold theme options with your ThemeForest user name. You can generate two API keys and insert them in theme options respectively.
Please try this plugin to clear WordPress transients if you do not receive auto updates and make sure your API key is correct: https://wordpress.org/plugins/artiss-transient-cleaner/.
If it does not help, I am afraid you might need to update the theme manually – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/
Unfortunately not all Server environments are able to make use of the auto update feature provided by ThemeForest :/
The latest version of Enfold is currently 4.0.7

YigitJune 14, 2017 at 10:05 pm #808259Okay, thanks.
I just updated it manually. And will keep an eye on if the automation works next time. Thanks for your help.
