I am using Enfold Theme and I have added a background video into a color section.
The background video is simply a reference to a 25 second video that I uploaded to vimeo. I purchased the video from videohive.net for the purpose of a website background. My problem is that the video only loads and plays about a quarter or half the time. The other times it is just a black screen where the video should be playing. If I continually refresh the page it usually works but that isn’t a workable fix.Any suggestions?
Thank you

April 23, 2017 at 6:07 am #781885Hi,
Thanks for that. Could you try deactivating all plugins to see if one of them is causing a conflict please?
Best regards,
RikardApril 23, 2017 at 10:33 pm #782071I am not an advanced web developer. Wouldn’t deactivating all plugins possibly break the site?
Also, I’m currently linking to the video on vimeo. Enfold says that “Currently supported are Youtube, Vimeo and direct linking of web-video files (mp4, webm, ogv).”
How can I direct link to the video file? That might speed up the playing of the video file??April 24, 2017 at 5:35 am #782141Hi,
That might happen but it’s not very likely, when things like this happens it’s usually because of a plugin conflict. Don’t you have a staging or local version of your site where you can try that out?

With the enfold theme…is there an option to add the video to your media library and link to it or play it from there versus link to it via youtube or vimeo? I’m curious if direct linking might speed up the playing of the video.
I switched from vimeo to youtube and it seem to play now regardless of what browser I use, however it is too slow.
I’ve asked around and other sites that are using videos have uploaded the video to their media library.April 25, 2017 at 8:34 pm #783083Hi mbellush,
Not necessary will the direct linking be faster, plus if the videos are big and you have a lot of them, you will need to consider having a lot of disk space with your hosting. Plus, a lot of projects are switching to cdn or youtube or vimeo if your business is global and videos need to be available fast all over the world.
But then again, if it’s just a short video for background, having it in your media library might be a better option.

VictoriaApril 25, 2017 at 8:44 pm #783092Can you explain how to do that though?
The enfold theme says you can do it but it only gives you a box to enter a link to vimeo or youtube?April 25, 2017 at 9:23 pm #783107Hello moderators!
I’m also facing problems with a video in the background of a content section. Last weak it disappeared, then after flushing all caches and rebuilding that element it came back. Just an hour ago i log in to work on my website, and the video is gone again. Ive experienced this before with your previous theme (bought enfold for another company in 2016), don’t know how i got it fixed that time.
So how te make sure it will keep on showing? (well, the first thing is I need it to first show ;)) I need my website online by next friday, and for my business it will be horrible to present it without a video (i’m selling videos ;)). As for the moment I use some random youtube video (yes, i checked if it was still online, and even tried to use other youtube video / links, but none working and showing).
I’ve already setup a temp admin account, see login details below.
Sincerely
Arnout

I don’t see the link to your website in the private box, only credentials. Please post a link as well.
