Hey, I’m getting a “warning: illegal string offset ‘id’…” error on my layerslider. I’ve tried deactivating all plugins to no avail. I see there’s an update for layerslider available even though I’m apparently running the latest version of Enfold (4.0.5). Any clues for me?
April 14, 2017 at 7:15 pm #777990Hey sky19er,
Would you mind providing a precise link to your site, showing the elements in question? We need to be able to inspect them in order to help :)
We might also need admin access to check this.Best regards,
AndyApril 14, 2017 at 7:19 pm #777996Oh yeah, sorry — http://08c.69c.myftpupload.com/home-layer-slider/ — let me know if you need access.
April 14, 2017 at 9:01 pm #778067Hey!
Can you please ask your hosting provide to change you on php ver 5.6+ or even better php 7.0+?
Thank you

BasilisMay 10, 2017 at 2:26 pm #791103Hi, thanks — I finally got around to calling GoDaddy about this and they said the php is already 5.6+ and no, they can’t change it to 7.0+. Any other help you can offer?
May 10, 2017 at 2:38 pm #791110Hi,
Can you please try re-updating the theme via FTP and overwrite all files – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/?
If that too does not help, please create a temporary WP admin login and post it here along with FTP logins privately so we can look further into it.
Also, are you using LayerSlider on your website? As a final solution we may need to deactivate it
Best regards,
YigitMay 10, 2017 at 3:23 pm #791146Thanks for the quick response. But what do you mean, am I using LayerSlider? That’s what this whole question is about — I’m getting an error when I’m using LayerSlider — I’m using LayerSlider on http://08c.69c.myftpupload.com/home-layer-slider/ and the error seems to be associated with LayerSlider — “illegal string offset… shortcodes/slideshow_layerslider.php on line 97” — so what do you mean “are you using LayerSlider on your website”?
May 10, 2017 at 3:25 pm #791150Hi,
Some users who are not using LayerSlider gets error too sometimes and we simply suggest them to deactivate LayerSlider however clearly that is not the case for you :)
Please try re-updating the theme and provide credentials if that does not help as i mentioned in my previous post :)
Best regards,
YigitMay 13, 2017 at 11:24 pm #792817OK, hmm, overwriting the theme files via FTP didn’t seem to work at first (even after using the flush cache feature in godaddy). But then it dawned on me to just try creating a new slider, and that seemed to work. And then when I switched back to the original slider that was working too. So maybe overwriting the theme files did work, or maybe just creating a new slider worked and somehow cleared up the original, too. Or maybe it was a combination of those things, I don’t know. Anyway, seems to be fixed, now, so thanks! ;)
