1. Static Frontpage currently is associated with a page on the site via Enfold Theme settings
2. Changing Frontpage to any other page on the site results in an infinite redirect loop
3. Changing the Frontpage back to the original page immediately fixes the problem
4. Urls are all in lowercase with no special chars
5. It is crucial to be able to change the static Frontpage for new homepage launches.- This topic was modified 7 years, 7 months ago by JethroData.
April 13, 2017 at 7:37 am #777076Hey JethroData,
Thanks for the details. Could you try updating the theme to the latest version (4.0.5) to see if that helps please? http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/
Best regards,
RikardApril 13, 2017 at 2:30 pm #777285Hi Rikard,
I have successfully updated to 4.0.5 but this has not fixed the infinite redirect loop problem.
1. Frontpage is currently set to “Home2”
2. I am attempting to set it to “homeapr17”
3. Changing the Frontpage to this page—or to any other page—results in an infinite redirect loop.
Thanks,
RemyApril 14, 2017 at 6:10 am #777642Hi Remy,
Thanks for the feedback. Could you try deactivating all plugins to see if one of them is causing a conflict please?
Best regards,
RikardApril 14, 2017 at 2:58 pm #777848Thank you, I have solved the problem, which has to do with a plug-in called “Custom Permalinks”
1. Problem is caused when slug of page in question is changed using plugin “custom permalinks”
2. Solving problem is done by:
a. deactivating plugin
b. seeing what the “default” slug is for page in question
c. copying “default” slug
d. reactivating “Custom Permalinks”
e. using “default” slug exactly as it appears without the custom permalinks plugin
f. save
g. change frontpage to this page.April 14, 2017 at 3:14 pm #777850hm – don’t know if this has to do with your trouble – but i have too a problem with “ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS”
all the instructions on internet with cookies erasing do not work.the bad thing is that i do not come into backend.
this is a customer site – and badly i have no mysql access.i have manually updated WordPress and Enfold to the latest versions.
April 16, 2017 at 6:28 am #778376Hi @JethroData,
Great, glad you got it working and thanks for sharing the solution.
@Guenni007, let us know if you if you should need any help with your customer site, though I would recommend the “normal” trouble shooting procedure to find the problem. I know you know all of those already :-)Best regards,
RikardApril 16, 2017 at 12:02 pm #778412i think it has to be a serverside problem – so i have to wait for serveradmin to go on this problem. The monthly saved Site runs on my Server perfect.
