Dear Enfold people!
So my Wordfence has been showing me a message that a plugin needs an update, but this plugin isn’t in the plugins folder:
There is no name of the plugin, nor does it exist in the plugins window but there is a link to a slider which I guess is the slider that is bundled with Enfold???
At the same time Wordfence was showing a live warning:
I have been ignoring this and now I saw there is a new update to Enfold so I thought maybe this had something to do with the Advanced Layerslider that needed an update which is bundled with Enfold. When updating I got these error messages:
So my questions is, has this something to do with Enfold and the Layerslider? Becuase this is happening on all my sites created with Enfold. Or have all my sites been hacked?!?!
Thank you!
March 30, 2017 at 12:32 am #769208I am experiencing exactly the same issue.
I have the latest version of Enfold and it’s happening on all installs. I’ve just deactivated Wordfence and the plugin update notification disappears. “No updates available”. As soon as I reinstall Wordfence, it reappears to show there’s a plugin update available and a Wordfence generated warning that layer slider needs to be updated to 6.2.2. – critical update.
March 30, 2017 at 5:06 am #769278Whoops – sorry – I see another thread addressing this. Thank you.
March 30, 2017 at 2:04 pm #769466Yes, now I’ve read that too. But the update of Enfold doesn’t solve this. And also what about all the error messages after the update procedure. Those are in the functions.php which is not part of Enfold?!?!?
Please help!
March 31, 2017 at 3:47 pm #770019Hi SoundComposer and loudcow,
Our developers are trying to keep up with the LayerSlider update and are working on getting the new version of LS in the new version of Enfold. Please be patient. Thank you :)
If you need further assistance please let us know.
Best regards,
VictoriaJuly 7, 2017 at 3:14 pm #817873Hello Victoria,
Your message is from the end of March. After over three months, could we not get an update to this plugin if we have an Enfold license? This is rather annoying for a known issue.
Cheers,
GabrielJuly 8, 2017 at 6:20 am #818076Hi,
A new version of the theme will likely be available on Monday.

July 19, 2017 at 3:59 pm #824044ENFOLD Update installed. Error persists.
Any solution to this? Having a hard time making my client understand the Wordfence error :(
July 20, 2017 at 3:17 am #824303OK folks, this is taking a little too long to resolve and I have a client that is rather upset. Could anyone please confirm if installing a purchased version of the plugin makes the error go away? At this point it’d be easier to pay the $22 US than wait for new versions of ENFOLD that may or mayn’t resolve the problem.
Thank you in advance for your response!
July 20, 2017 at 6:09 pm #824746Hi GabrielSenn,
Yes, if you buy the license, you can update Layer Slider as soon as their update is out and you will bot get that message.
Best regards,

July 21, 2017 at 6:12 am #824987Hi,
Also please deactivate the bundled version using this at the bottom of your functions.php:
add_theme_support('deactivate_layerslider');
Best regards,
RikardJuly 21, 2017 at 5:39 pm #825193Thank you Rikard.
I have not, and does not seem to have had an ill effect. Can I do it on the child functions.php to avoid problems after updates?
