Hello! I walked through all of the steps to install the Enfold Theme using the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3p4tcDNzusc. I would like to insert the “comments” element under each of my blogposts so that viewers can make comments and ask questions about my content.

However, despite clicking the “comments” in the content element section of the Advanced Layout Builder (which is reading Avia Layout Builder on my back-end), it is not showing up on the front end. I have made sure that the Discussion box is checked under “Screen Options” and verified that the “Allow Comments” is checked too. But no comments are showing up. What can I do?

    fillyoursails.org is the website.
fillyoursails.org/admin is the admin site to pull up the back end of WordPress.

Updated Info is in private content section.
    Thank you for helping me.
I am really excited to be able to have comments underneath each of my blogposts using the Enfold Theme once this issue is resolved. =)

    Hi,

The comments aren’t able to work on any page that uses a template builder template. They can only work on regular pages or posts. I create a post using the default editor and here`s the comments: http://www.fillyoursails.org/test/

    Best regards,

Thank you for checking on this for me. I don’t understand what you mean by “template builder template.”

Is the template builder template mean any of the “advanced layout builder components”? Does this mean that I can only use the default editor if I want comments at the end of my blogpost?

Is there a way to work around this, because obviously I bought Enfold Theme with the intention of creating beautiful blogposts that will all have the compatibility with the comments element at the bottom of each.

Please help me know what to do to make this possible.

    Thankyou,
    Hannah

How can I use the Advanced Layout Builder for my blogposts and have comments show up?
The parts of the Advanced Layout Builder I use the most are gallery, separator, special heading, and text block. Could I make them all work together with comments like it looks like they are intended to?

With respect to John, that information is not correct. I use the ALB all the time and use the comments element at the bottom of my posts (e.g. http://www.thomashenthorne.com/le-comptoir-san-rafael/) and it works just fine. Make sure you are adding the comments element at the very bottom of your post as the very last element.

On your admin dashboard, go to SETTINGS and then DISCUSSION SETTINGS tick the box next to ” Allow people to post comments on new articles “… and take a look at the other boxes under discussion settings to make sure other boxes are set appropriately. I hope that this solves your issue. I highly advise that you use Askimet to filter out comment spam, which is a huge problem, and also place all comments into moderation queue until you approve them.

    Hope this helps!

    :)

Was just about to ask this very same question! Thanks for the clarification John, although a little disappointing that you can’t use the advanced editor I’m glad it’s not my blog that’s broken

Also one more note – comments may not show in post preview mode, so you actually have to publish the test post to see them.
