    In Goolges Search Console I get hreflang errors for the localized homepages. The WPML support told me I should solve it with the theme support. We already found out that the error is not caused by active plugins.

    Not sure if i understood the issue clearly. Can you please elaborate?
    If you would like to add those menu items to your menu without links, please go to Appearance > Menus and add new Custom Link with # for url and with your navigation labels

    The localisations of our homepage in french and english should only be accessible as https://magiclift.ch/en/ or https://magiclift.ch/fr. But they are accessible as https://magiclift.ch/en/learn-paragliding/ or https://magiclift.ch/fr/ecole-de-parapente/ as well. Each of the pages have two URLs. So we face a problem with duplicate content and missing hreflang backlinks.

    Hi,

    I doubt that this is a theme related issue, as you would have this problem with any other theme as well. It seems more like a general WP issue to me. Check out this here: http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-optimize-your-wordpress-robots-txt-for-seo/

    Hi Andy
    Your doubt in honour, but I checked with the WPML-support and even for WPML second tier support it is a theme related issue. The pages have two URLs only when I activate the enfold child theme. The pages are not accessible with the slugs when I use a standard theme like Twenty Seventeen.

    what if you use the default Enfold theme, instead of your child theme? does the same happen for you?

    With the default theme it doesn’t happen. Only with the enfold child theme.

    Hi,

    then we know that some customizations you did inside your child theme is causing this. So remove them one by one to check which one exactly is the root of your issue.
