Is there any way to connect the post slider to another installation of WordPress located in a different subdirectory?
I previously was using a static HTML site for my main site, but now I’ve transitioned over to a WordPress installation with Enfold (which I love).
Previously, however, my blog was running on a WordPress installation in a different directory and I’m not sure if I want to migrate the data over.
If it’s unclear, here’s how it’s structured:
mysite.com/my-current-main-enfold-site-directory/Wordpress-1
mysite.com/my-old-blog-site-directory/Wordpress-2(Not sure if that made it clearer, ha ha!)
It is possible to modify the post slider so it “reads” the RSS feed (or whatever) from where my existing blog is located?
Thank you!
Kelly

The posts are stored in database. If you want to have all or certain posts from old site, just export what you need and import to the new site. Directory structure here is irrelevant.

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, every time our existing blog creates a post, it automatically posts the article to various social networking sites. In order to not create a ton of dead links, I’d like to keep the blog in its existing sub directory.
Is there no way to point the post slider to that sub directory?
If not, I understand and I’ll have to look for a plugin to do it.
Thank you!

What I meant was a database export and import of your posts, it might not trigger that mechanism you have for automatic posts. This need further investigation. It’s not a matter of directories or subdirectories.
Here is an article about ways you can move content.
And here is an article on how to display posts from another post, getting them via rss.

Thank you for your reply.
Hmm…The point is that I’d like to continue making blog posts from our WordPress installation in the BLOG subdirectory.
But, I’d like to show posts from the BLOG subdirectory on our MAIN SITE (which is frun from a separate WordPress installation in a different subdirectory [using Enfold]).
Enfold’s post slider is really nice so I thought it would be a good way to display posts (from the blog subdirectory) on our main site.
Does that make any more sense?

Enfold’s post slider only displays posts from the instance it’s added, to make it work with external data you might need to do some customization. Unfortunately, it is not something that can be done with simple code snippet and is not covered by our support, if really what this kind of feature you can always hire a freelancer to do it for you.
You could also duplicate posts from one site to another.
Let us know if you have any more questions.
Best regards,
