Hi,
I have seen and read several topics on adding code etc to change the search result for my website. The problem with this is that when you do an update, I will lose all of these settings.
Is there an easier way or plugin that can modify my search result to look more like a shop search result? i.e. in a grid layout?
All I get now is lines and lines of results, which does not look very professional. I am also using Relevanssi as the search engine thinking this may offer some alternative, although it is faster, the result layout is the same.
Thank you,
Paul

YigitMarch 3, 2017 at 4:30 pm #755163Hi Yigit,
That make absolutely no sense to me, but also from what I could understand it was an end user trying to do something and adding some suggestion. Is there not just an option to display in grid format and not the listing format?
Thanks,
Paul
March 3, 2017 at 5:22 pm #755218Hey Paul,
You should apply the changes on enfold/search.php file. Elliot was a moderator on our forum.
Please consider using a child theme – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/using-a-child-theme/ and apply the changes there otherwise they will be overwritten when you update the theme.Cheers!
YigitMarch 3, 2017 at 5:26 pm #755224Almost every online shop out there that I have come across, the grid layout from a search is how their search results are displayed, which basically mimics the way the actual shop looks. by having the listing view it changes the whole dynamic of the website and quite frankly looks terrible.
March 3, 2017 at 5:28 pm #755228Hi,
Please feel free to request – or vote if already requested – such feature on Enfold feature request form.

YigitMarch 3, 2017 at 8:12 pm #755322Hi Yigit,
Yes I have several times, but I can not change theme either as my site is live and active, otherwise I would probably have done that. Shame.
Regards,
Paul.

March 7, 2017 at 1:30 am #756683Hi,
I tried implementing the changes however there seems to be a conflict with Relevanssi plugin as it does not work. Sorry about that
Best regards,
YigitMarch 7, 2017 at 1:34 am #756684okay. Thank you Yigit
What if I removed that plugin or disabled it?
March 9, 2017 at 4:58 pm #758447Hi,
Sorry for the late reply!
I believe it should work fine after that however you would not be to use advanced search features plugin provides.
Replacing search.php file does work fine on my end. Here is a screenshot from my local installation – http://i.imgur.com/l3QI1nw.pngBest regards,
YigitMarch 9, 2017 at 5:47 pm #758477Wow that’s looks awesome. It will be worth a try to see the pros and cons of it.
Am i able to get a copy of that file please?
Thank you very much.
March 9, 2017 at 8:25 pm #758529Hi,
Sure! You can download it here – https://www.dropbox.com/s/ks92r75puv2hd6s/search.php?dl=0 :)

YigitMarch 9, 2017 at 8:46 pm #758541Hey, Thanks for you help, but it grabs the result and show the number but no products with or without Relevanssi enabled, so I will just give up for now
Thank you very much again.
Cheers,
Paul
