    Hi!

    After trying to update to Enfold version 2017 February 1st – Version 3.8.5, the Enfold theme was deactivated/removed and switched to (standard) Twenty Sixteen theme.

    The related error was (more or less): could not remove old theme.

    Under “Design” –> “Themes” I get the message:
    “Beschädigte Themes
    Die folgenden Themes sind installiert, aber nicht vollständig.
    Name: Enfold Child
    Beschreibung: Das übergeordnete Theme fehlt. Bitte installiere das übergeordnete Theme „enfold“, da du Child-Themes sonst nicht nutzen kannst.”

    Do I have to upload Enfold now via https://vimeo.com/67209750 (“Update with FTP”). Will this restore also my installled Enfold child theme?

    Hi again!

    Apparently I have to “Renew support to get help from Kriesi for 6 months” (which costs $ 49,00) to get an answer here. Wow… okay… I understood.

    Indeed, the failed update to 3.8.5. managed to delete completely the folder “Enfold” on my server, so I had to reinstall the whole theme by FTP following the instructions via https://vimeo.com/67209750. After that, I activated my (preconfigured) Enfold Child theme and… it works now.

    No, that is not the case. Forum is just very busy therefore it take a bit longer than usual for us to reply :)

    Glad you figured it out!
    For future reference, if auto update fails, you can always manually update the theme via FTP – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/ :)
