    A question from an Enfold fan….

    As we start a new year, I find myself wondering about the future of Enfold. We don’t hear a lot from Kriesi on this forum and I haven’t seen any blog posts lately (perhaps I am missing them) so I’m wondering if he could take a moment to tell us where he is headed with one of the world’s most popular themes. I have been noticing fewer new enhancements / features rolling out lately — is Enfold going into a mature maintenance mode or can we expect new features (more sophisticated mobile experience would be great) in 2017? Will there be an Enfold 2?

    I know there is a “new feature request” area but that’s not the purpose of this thread. The purpose is to ask for Kriesi’s thoughts on where he’s headed with this theme and what we can look forward to in 2017.

    And thanks to all the wonderful support provided in 2016 to Yigit, Andy, Basilis, Vinnie, and the rest of the team!

    Hey goldengate415!

    Thank you for reaching out to us and showing your support and interest in our theme. It keeps on inspiring us to do more :)

    I will forward this message to Kriesi however most of the time Kriesi is busy working on the theme and new features so you get to hear less from him here but trust me he is always aware of user request and issues.

    Hey!

    I am currently building the next major release so yes, enfold is going to get better in many ways. The next release will focus on the layout builder and make it more user friendly, the release after that I want to dig into the header area and improve that.

    So in general I want to improve existing stuff and make sure not to overdo it with new features, so Enfold doesnt get to hard to use for new users and does not get bloated.

    I did start to post from time to time on facebook about what we are working on so you might want to follow us there for the occasional update ;)

    Hey Kriesi!!

    Thank you so much for your post. Great to hear that you are still hard at work on “our” theme that we love so much, and that more is coming. Excited about the improved header and hoping two logos are coming our way (right now my site is customized for two logos and the header can be a bit slow as it loads the custom code.).

    Not to turn this into a “what we want” thread, and if it goes there, I’m sure mods will close, but as you know the two things Google is demanding from us is (1) speed and (2) mobile friendliness. Anything you can do on those two would be much appreciated. As an example, Yigit’s code to add search to the mobile menu was great and works well, but I would think that would be a part of the standard theme at this point. 85% of the visitors to my site here in the SF Bay Area are on mobile.
