Hi, I am very new to Enfold and am not a developer, and have a question about creating a child theme (I just downloaded the Enfold theme a couple of weeks ago). I have already started building a website using the ‘construction’ demo pages, which I imported, as my starting point – I have made only a few changes to the demo pages. (eg the header, new logo, google map, colour changes, adding new pages etc).
I keep reading that it is best to create a child theme and build the website on a child theme, to help with all future updates.
Should I create a child theme now (using your child theme download?) and can I keep my changes on the construction demo pages i have already started and copy them to the child theme – or – will it be easier to start again with the child theme?

I had already started my website using the construction demo and some of these stylings have imported successfully from the construction parent theme, but not all.
These are some of the changes in my child theme compared to my original construction parent demo:
– header area with logo is smaller
– menu font size is smaller
– caption text on easyslider is smaller
– font appears different
I have cleared my web browser’s cache and reloaded a few times, but it hasn’t made any difference and my new child theme pages still look different to the original construction demo. Is there something I have forgotten to do in the settings or anything I can do to get the original styling and look back?

Did you try exporting the settings from your parent theme to the child using the Import/Export functionality in the theme options? If that doesn’t work then please list the changes you would like to make and link to your site and we’ll have a look at it.

Yes, I had already imported the parent theme settings using the Import/Export function in the theme options. I have included a link to my site in the private content and also to the Construction demo so you can see them side by side – I think the main difference is that all the sections and text size on my site are smaller than on Enfold’s original demo site.
I have only made changes to the Home page and Contact page (links posted).
Home page
– height of logo area header is smaller
– height of menu strip is smaller
– Menu text size is smaller
– Caption text and buttons on the Easyslider are smaller
It seems everything is scaled down / shrunk compared to the demo original.
Same problems on the Contact page.
If there is anything I can change in my settings, please let me know. Thanks very much.Hi,
Thanks for the links, though I can’t see any difference when comparing your front page with the demo, except for the changes you have made of course. In what browser are you seeing this? I used Chrome when comparing. Could you try loading your site in an incognito window to make sure you are not getting cached results please?
