Hi Kriesi,
I’m using the Gallery element (private link below) set to display as ‘Big image with thumbnails below’.
As the thumbnail images are a mix of vertical and horizontal format, the thumbnails do not display neatly in a grid.
How can I set the thumbnails to all crop square?
I have tried choosing a square format i.e 300 x 300 pixels for the ‘Gallery Preview Image Size’, but this does not result in square thumbnails.
Thanks, Richard
December 7, 2016 at 2:12 pm #721490Hey Richard,
check out Enfold’s image sizes here: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-image-sizes/#post-336176
By the way WordPress is cropping images by default when uploading them and if you want to control this behavior you can use a plugin like this: https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-image-sizes
I hope this will help :).Best regards,
AndyDecember 7, 2016 at 2:15 pm #721491Thanks, but if there is no ‘crop’ => false’ set for the square 180 x 180 pixel images, why are my gallery thumbnails not being cropped square?
Thanks

December 9, 2016 at 3:25 pm #722452Hi,
if you want your WordPress images being cropped then follow the instructions I’ve given you. Anyway, you keep asking questions about general WordPress questions, as you would have have the same problem with any other theme as well. Please use our support for theme specific questions/issues only. So again use this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-image-sizes

I too have the exact same issue. this was not a problem on previous occasion but now the image thumbnails are not being cropped.
No matter what you select the outcome still stays the same. I have built many site with enfold and this is the first time the thumbnail crop is not working. I don’t need a plugin to resize my images.. seriously read the question. nothing wrong with my images its the thumbnail crop that is not working as it is suppose toJanuary 25, 2017 at 5:48 am #738112Hey!
We are very sorry for the confusion. Please edit the gallery element then select a thumbnail size in the “Gallery Preview Image Size” settings. You can also install the suggested plugin above so that the “crop” parameter for the selected thumbnail size can be enabled. Enabling the “crop” parameter will ensure that every images are cropped to the exact same size.
Cheers!
