Hi Enfold folks! A customer just alerted us that they wasted a ton of time trying to update quantities on items in their cart before deciding to forget it and cancel the sale. Ouch! I discovered I could not change the quantities either–the +/- buttons work but the update cart button does nothing.

I did a search on the forums here and found several references to the same issue back in July/Aug after WC 2.6 came out. At the time, Kriesi promised to solve the issue in an upcoming update, which I assume has happened.

I discovered we were running a old version of Enfold and updated immediately to 3.8. However, the problem remains even if I do a Ctrl + R on the cart to make sure it’s loading the updated file. We do not have a caching program/plugin running on this website.

I also tried the fix provided by mensmaximus in replacing the woocommerce-mod file, but it did not have any effect so I have reverted to the original.

Would you be able to help us with this? This is obviously a critical time of the year for online sales.

I’ve included our website and login below

    Thank you.

Can someone please help us with this issue? We’ve had 5 people contact us in the last two days complaining about this and 3 have walked away from orders.

    Hi,

    1. The quantity and cart was updated in product page.

    2. The quantity and cart was updated again in cart page.

Did not find any issue updating the product quantity in product page or in the cart.

If you are still facing this issue please let us know more detials about the browser and the device on which you are facing this issue.

    Best regards,
    Vinay

Thank you for your help, Vinay! I am still facing this issue, at least with my primary browser (Chrome). I can adjust the quantity in the cart with the + and – buttons but when I click Update Cart absolutely nothing happens…it does not even attempt to reload the page, etc., it just acts like a non-functioning button. The button does change appearance when I mouse over, but clicking does not do anything further.

I was able to get it to work on my laptop and my desktop with Internet Explorer. On my laptop, it still didn’t work in Chrome but doing a Ctrl+R did correct the issue. I’m unable to get it to work on my desktop, which means it’s likely a cache or something on this system? Keep in mind I had another customer last night voice the same complaint, but that could mean that they had been on the site and cart page prior to the update?

For what it’s worth, I’m on a Dell XPS desktop running Windows 8.1 at 64-bit, my version of Chrome was Version 54.0.2840.99 m but I’ve updated to Version 55.0.2883.75 m with no change to the issue.

I do appreciate your help, but I’m guessing the issue was LIKELY corrected upon updating Enfold to 3.8 and both myself and several customers just need to clear the cache for it to take effect?

    Thanks so much…

    John

    Hi!

That has been reported as a known issue of WooCommerce with many different themes.
We do try to get the issue fixed and it is reported to Kriesi, so we would really appreciate some patience.

    Thanks a lot

    Cheers!

Thanks, Basilis – understandable. I do appreciate the Kriesi support and your team trying to help your customers and users in such situations. I was getting a little anxious because of the 3-day delay in initial response, with customers of ours continuing to inform us they were frustrated or went elsewhere. I’m having a hard time determining whether the issue is continuing at the website level or just browser level now.

    With appreciation,

    John

    Hey!

There could be various reasons why this is happening to you. Let’s check what is causing this issue.

To confirm if it is a local browser issue. Please deactivate any chrome extension and clear the cache.

As mentioned earlier this has also been reported on woocommerce related issue.

However I did try a few products on chrome and the cart update worked fine for me.

Could you let me know which product you tried to update ? and if it has enough stock in WooCommerce options?

    Cheers!

    Hi Enfold Guys,

I have exactly the same problem:
    WC 2.6.8, Enfold 3.8, WP 4.6.1
The issue is both with the +/- buttons and the delete item X button.
If I hover over the Delete Item part, I can see the call on the lower display area on Chrome. If I click the delete item button it acts like the Update button above – However… If I right click the Delete Item Button and open it in a new tab, then the process is undertaken and the item is deleted. The same happens, that is it works, if I copy the link and run it address line at the top.

I am not running any Cache plugin
    Stock is not an Issue
I get this on Firefox, Maxthon and Chrome – both Desktop and Mobile.
I also tried the fix provided by mensmaximus in replacing the woocommerce-mod file, but it did not have any effect

Are both issues a Woocommerce problem or just the Update button?
How long do Woocommerce take to generate a fix? Christmas Season is upon us!

    Thanking you in advance

Hi Vinay – sorry for the delay in responding. No, I only tried it with products that allow backorder or that I knew there was plenty of stock in, and I couldn’t REDUCE the amount in the cart either.

Also, This EXACT same behaviour is happening on my photography site at http://www.launsteinimagery.com as well, and again there are no stock issues preventing quantity changes there. The problem does not appear to occur in internet explorer. We were made aware of the problem from complaints from several customers using a safari, chrome and IE. We believe the update did correct this for customers who have not been on the cart page before, but it seems to be a residual problem if it’s a repeat customer (I have a repeat customer who says the problem is still there while others reporting all is well when I’ve asked them to check this for me). So I’m suspecting some type of cache issue.

Thank you for your help. I’m now more concerned about another issue that has cropped up which I opened a separate topic for 2 days ago: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/losing-ability-to-save-draft-publish-or-update/ …I’d greatly appreciate assistance on that one if you have a moment.

    With appreciation,

    Hi,

Just to make sure there are no other plugins in conflict please check the console message. To view the console on google chrome right click on the page and select inspect. Then click on the console tab to check if there are any js errors ?

If you find any errors a plugin conflict may be one of the reason for this issue.
To find which plugin is causing the conflict please follow these steps:

    1. Go to your plugins page > Deactivate all active Plugins
    2. Update WordPress and Enfold to latest version if you have not.
    3. Make sure all the plugins are updated.
    4. If the problem does not persist when plugins are turned off, activate one plugin at a time and refresh until you find the plugin in conflict.

We await the results of your plugin compatibility test.

    Thanks for your cooperation :)

For a quick fix please refer to this link https://kriesi.at/support/topic/woocommerce-2-6-problem-urgent/#post-650161

Kriesi is aware of this issue and a patch should be released in the next update.

    Best regards,
    Vinay
