hi, running 4.6.1. I use Enfold and tried to insert some coding in functions.php advised by your Ismail in another topic dated January 12, 2015 to obtain a language switcher but sadly it didn’t work and after having removed it again I get the following error message: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected end of file in /var/www/ferieboligsydfrankrig.dk/public_html/cannesholidayapartment/wp-content/themes/enfold/functions.php on line 575
I’m now unable to even reach the functions page as my page is completely blocked. Could you kindly reset the functions page?
November 12, 2016 at 3:04 am #711376Hey!
Please try re-updating the theme via FTP – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/. If you would like us to look into it, please post FTP and WP admin logins here privately.
Best regards,
YigitNovember 13, 2016 at 12:31 am #711511Hey Yigit
many thanks. I uploaded the original functions.php to my server but now I get this report:
Warning: require_once(config-wpml/config.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /var/www/ferieboligsydfrankrig.dk/public_html/cannesholidayapartment/wp-includes/functions.php on line 30
Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘config-wpml/config.php’ (include_path=’.’) in /var/www/ferieboligsydfrankrig.dk/public_html/cannesholidayapartment/wp-includes/functions.php on line 30
I would really appreciate if you could help me out.
November 13, 2016 at 7:04 pm #711665Hi!
It seems that while you upload, there are some disconects and the theme is not uploaded properly.
Please try check what is the file size limit your hosting provider has. Thanks a lot
Best regards,
BasilisNovember 14, 2016 at 12:02 am #711718hi,
The theme has worked perfectly all the time until I started to modify the functions.php file. So I think that the theme has been uploaded properly.
I uploaded the original functions.php via File Manager yesterday through Unoeuro’s control panel which they say is similar to uploading via ftp. I’ll try to investigate the file size limit but I don’t thinnk that this is the problem because functions.php is a very small file.
I should explain that I have an old html web site running currently on same server while I’m designing the new site using Enfold theme that is not completed yet and not online yet.
Do you have any other way to help me please? It seems that the functions.php file is causing trouble. I cannot even access my Enfold folders now.
Kind regards
DavidNovember 15, 2016 at 12:49 am #712241Hi David,
I logged into control panel and edited functions.php and it should be working fine now. Please check your website and post a link if it does not help.
Best regards,
YigitNovember 15, 2016 at 8:09 pm #712576Hi Yigit,
Thanks but sadly it still does not work. I cannot access my dashboard. I keep getting same error message as above about fatal error etc.
Kind regards
DavidNovember 15, 2016 at 8:43 pm #712580November 15, 2016 at 9:44 pm #712620hi
here the link:
http://ferieboligsydfrankrig.dk.linux58.unoeuro-server.com/cannesholidayapartment/
as mentioned above, I have an old html web site public while I’m designing a new one in Enfold that is currently parked under the subname cannesholidayapartment so I hope you won’t get confused by this.
usually, to logon I just have to write logon or wpadmin after above address but I keep getting below 2 error reports:
Warning: require_once(config-wpml/config.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /var/www/ferieboligsydfrankrig.dk/public_html/cannesholidayapartment/wp-includes/functions.php on line 30
Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘config-wpml/config.php’ (include_path=’.’) in /var/www/ferieboligsydfrankrig.dk/public_html/cannesholidayapartment/wp-includes/functions.php on line 30
Kind regards
DavidNovember 17, 2016 at 7:03 am #713385Hi,
Did you modify the functions.php file inside the wp-content > themes > enfold folder? It looks like that the functions.php file inside the wp-includes folder has been modified. Please get a fresh copy of the WordPress files then override the whole installation. Or just get a fresh copy of the wp-includes > functions.php file.
Best regards,
IsmaelNovember 17, 2016 at 10:32 am #713488Hi, yes I’m afraid that I did that. I did upload a fresh original but then it changed from saying “parse error” to “fatal error”.
I’ve been blocked from accessing my admin page for 6 days now. Could you kindly help me?
Best regards
DavidNovember 17, 2016 at 4:20 pm #713622Hi,
You accidentally overwritten wrong functions.php file. Almost always you should apply the changes you would like to make on “functions.php” on theme’s functions.php file and not the one inside wp-includes/ folder. Please review your website now
Best regards,
YigitNovember 17, 2016 at 4:23 pm #713623Thank you very much!
