Hi,
My website is structured as follows:
HOME – ABOUT US – LIBRARY – CONTACT US – BLOGInside HOME there are two color sections, one for ABOUT US and one for CONTACT US (they both have their own ID).
LIBRARY is a different page, and so is BLOG.The menu is like this: HOME – LINK TO /HOME#ABOUTUS – LIBRARY – LINK TO /HOME#CONTACTUS – BLOG
When I’m in – let’s say – LIBRARY and I want to go to CONTACT US, that’s fine, the page loads as it should.
When I’m in HOME and I want to jump to CONTACT US, it happens the same thing, the page loads taking me to the color section. How I would like it to behave: I would want to have a smooth transition from/to CONTACT US – ABOUT US. The same that happens when I’m on the bottom of the homepage and I click HOME.
As I said, the menu links are like /page#anchor not website.com/page#anchor, and trying the latter didn’t do it.
Can you please suggest me something (sorry for my wording, I’m not english)
November 11, 2016 at 5:48 pm #711299Hey imriky,
Please refer to this post – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/add-anchors-to-your-page-for-single-page-navigation/
If you would like to use different menus per page, please use a plugin such as this one – https://wordpress.org/plugins/zen-menu-logic/
Best regards,
YigitNovember 12, 2016 at 6:47 pm #711462I’m sorry, I think I wasn’t clear.
– If the link in the menu is to #aboutus or #contactus when I click on it and I’m on the homepage I go smoothly to that color section.
— If I am on another page (for example library) and I click on about us or contact us, nothing happens (and I see why).– If the link in the menu is to /home#aboutus or /home#contactus when I click on it and I’m on the homepage I go to that color section, but not smoothly (the page loads as if it was another page). That’s where my problem is. The thing is that initially it worked as I wanted, taking me smoothly to that color section.
– If I am on another page (for example library) and I click on about us or contact us, I go to that section on the homepage (and that’s fine)Basically I want to be able to go smoothly to a color section within the same page, while also maintaining the possibility to go to that same color section from another different page.
Thank you very much
November 12, 2016 at 7:00 pm #711463Hey!
Please check the posts, you have to add the full URL of the site, and after the #achor, so it can work from the inside pages also.
Cheers!
BasilisNovember 12, 2016 at 7:13 pm #711470I have checked the posts but that didn’t help. And I have just tried to link to the full URL instead of just /home#aboutus but that didn’t work either.
I noticed that if the homepage is set to a “COMING SOON” page, and not to the “HOME” page, once I visit mywebsite.com/home the transition to the color sections is smooth as I want it to be. But if the homepage is “HOME” that doesn’t happen. So i’m trying to figure out a way so that when I am on the homepage (and that’s set to “HOME”) the URL shows mywebsite.com/home instead of just mywebsite.com
Thank you for your time
November 15, 2016 at 12:16 pm #712438Hi,
this sounds like a you’re talking about a default WordPress’ function. Try it with another theme to check if you have similar results or different ones and let us know about them here.
Best regards,
AndyNovember 16, 2016 at 7:42 pm #713164Hi Andy,
Thank you anyways.
I don’t think I succeeded in explaining my problem. If I could restart I would say:How can I have the smooth transition between two color sections on the homepage, when clicking on their respective link on the menu bar? I chose the color sections’ IDs and I added two links on the menu bar pointing to those IDs (using the #) , but when I click on one of them the page loads, as if it was another one, it doesn’t scroll to that color section as I would want.
Is it because there is not just the homepage on my website, but two other pages?
November 17, 2016 at 5:19 pm #713657Hi guys, I am having the same issue, using a child theme, I have a single page setup with anchors and all works well, until i created a post and a news page, i can access that but from those pages I get this (www.mysite.com/news/#Home)
I have installed the “zen-menu-logic” and selected the custom menu, but it doesn’t changer a thing.November 18, 2016 at 1:06 pm #713962so you’re talking about anchor links. Please follow these instructions here: http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/add-anchors-to-your-page-for-single-page-navigation/
However, it gets more and more consugin here and maybe it’s a good idea to open a new ticket, where you explain your problem clearly to us.
@Dewdan
Please open your own ticket, as this thread is already quite confusing.Best regards,
Andy -
