    Hi,
I run a medium sized WPMU network (~100 sites / 8M page views a month). On the main site of the installation we use Enfold.

On this site we were struggling with performance, especially with duplicate queries, which were in the order of the hundreds, apparently caused by WPML.

Today I decided to tackle the problem and upon doing some tests I’ve noticed that the problem is related to the front-page settings in Enfold’s option page.

If the front page is selected from the Enfold’s panel, the query to load a list of posts called on a static page is 444 .
If I set the frontpage in the standard wordpress Settings > Read option, queries for the same page are down to 257.

The absolute numbers increase or decrease according to the complexity of the page, but the difference in % is always around 40% more or less: those are duplicate queries called by WPML_Pre_Option_Page->get().

Since this problem does not happen with other themes, I thought you might appreciate an heads-up because wordpress performance (especially when using WPML) is often an issue :-)

    Best
