    Hi,

    I duplicated an working English site so I can convert it to Chinese.

    In the new site:
    -> I set the language to Chinese.
    -> I checked, and in the config file I use UTF-8

    When I try to edit the menu, the Chinese word becomes questions marks after I save.
    Also… When I try to put a Chinese word into the Copyright field, it “brakes” the site.

    Please advise,

    Tnx.

    My hosting company don’t allow access to admin outside my country…. I’ll try to solve it.

    In the mean time – any idea?
    It seem like the DB don’t allow this Chinese chars to be saved.
    Maybe I need to install a Chinese WordPress version?

    Tnx.

    Hi!

    I am afraid we will have to take a look at the backend to see where the issue is listed.
    I am sorry but we just need the access to it.
    Thanks a lot for understanding

    Regards,
    Basilis

    Here is an Admin access…

    Try to change the Home label into: 首页 (it will be converted to questions marks)
    Try to change the word Disclaimer (免责声明) in the footer and it will “break” the page.

    Please advise,

    Tnx.

    Hey!

    Please access the file directory then modify the wp-config.phpf file. Look for these codes and then comment it out.

    define('DB_CHARSET', 'utf8');
    define('DB_COLLATE', '');

    .. it should look like the following after.

    // define('DB_CHARSET', 'utf8');
    // define('DB_COLLATE', '');

    // http://siteber.com/how-to-render-chinese-characters-in-wordpress/

    Cheers!
    Ismael
