Hi I am a new user of the WordPress system and have successfully set up my website! Brilliant theme.
The problem I have is that when indexing my site the imported dummy data pages are also showing. I have deleted them from the menus etc but they must be in the root of the file system.
I understand this much (just). How am I able to remove them or correct the problem, I am with Site Ground as my host provider not sure if this makes any difference.
What’s the easy way to fix this problem, please nice and simple for the newbie…

Thank you for contacting us!
Your site looks nice!
Please edit pages, posts and comments and remove them manually. You could use a plugin such as this one – https://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-reset/, however that would reset your database and remove all content from your website.
I hope that helps. Let us know if you have any other questions or issues :)

YigitOctober 26, 2016 at 4:56 pm #704424Hi, I have managed to remove the pages/posts manually from the trash to permanently deleted. Hopefully, this will remove them from the root folder? The other problem is now I have also created a robots.txt file, but it has no address code for the site map automatically created in Yoast.
All it contains is the following…
User-agent: *
Disallow: /wp-admin/
Allow: /wp-admin/admin-ajax.phpPlease, could I have the code for adding my sitemap location?
And the url. It can be found inOctober 27, 2016 at 7:10 am #704680Hi,
If you have deleted the content from the backend you should be alright.
You can find your sitemap location in the Yoast options, I’m not sure why you want to add it to your robots.txt file though? If you want to submit it to a search engine you should be able to do so using their webmaster tool. Otherwise they will find it automatically anyway.
Best regards,
