I go into a page to update scheduled appearance dates….and then, when I click SAVE….it DOES NOT MAKE THE CHANGE.
The page in which I am trying to do this to is BOOKING ERIC DELABARRE: http://www.whatagreatbook.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=23&action=edit
Also, while I’m in the EDIT TEXT box, the tools are missing….changed, or something. There is no place to change font color.
Now, that being said, I have encountered this TEXT BOX change issue on other pages.
Please advise,
Eric

Sorry for the problems. Login details are not working, could you check/verify please?
Thanks,

October 21, 2016 at 8:41 am #702206Hi,
I added an a to the bottom of your text block and it saved as expected and is showing on the front end as well. What exactly are you trying to change? As for the lack of tools – you are using the Tiny MCE Advanced plugin and that is overriding the default editor, could you check the settings for the plugin or deactivate it to see if that helps please?
Regards,
RikardOctober 25, 2016 at 12:51 am #703509I deactivated the Tiny MCE and nothing changed in tool bars.
I want to attach some screen shots here to show you what is happening, but there is not place to ADD FILE here on this string.
If you could see the screen shots, it shows added text to show more dates to the schedule….
The 2nd screen would then show them NOT showing up as the changes are lost when “saved” from the text box to the page itself. This is what I’m trying to do…simply edit a text box and it’s NOT taking.
Have never had this problem in the past.
Please advise,Eric
October 25, 2016 at 8:36 am #703642Hi Eric,
Thanks for the feedback, you can upload screenshots to a service like dropbox, google drive, imgur etc. and then link to them here.

October 26, 2016 at 7:39 am #704144Hi Eric,
Sorry for the problems, I tried changing a portion of text in the area you pointed out and I got the same results unfortunately. The reason why this is happening is most likely because of open html markup. Markup is added by WordPress when you for instance add bold text using the editor. If that markup is not closed properly it will break the layout builder unfortunately. You can see all the content including markup if you select the text tab in the top right hand corner of the editor. I had a look but there is a lot of markup and finding the guilty markup is going to take a lot of time.
Possible ways around this problem; you could try copying all the the content from the text tab and paste it into the text tab of the default WordPress editor instead. Since you don’t utilise any of the special functionality of the builder I don’t see any point to using it for that page to be honest.
Otherwise you could try to use the builder instead; for instance use the Special Header element for headers and so on, you can achieve better looking pages this way. You could also try to copy all text from the front end to a new page without adding any markup from the editor and start over.Best regards,
RikardOctober 26, 2016 at 10:53 pm #704555Does this not sound like a coding problem in the theme itself? How and why would this all of the sudden become a problem? Shouldn’t an ENFOLD update fix problems like this? To use the default editor is crazy because I am using Enfold’s TEXT BOX and if I wanna bold something, I shouldn’t be penalized like this. Please advise.
October 27, 2016 at 8:59 am #704726Hi,
You would think so yes, and I do agree with you, but one of the flaws with the builder is that it breaks when html markup is not closed properly and there is not much we can do about it unfortunately. Did you try out any of my suggestions though?
Best regards,
RikardOctober 27, 2016 at 6:39 pm #704959Yes, I tried your suggestions and when I go into ANY of my pages, this is happening. CHANGES ARE NOT TAKING EFFECT.
When I click on the TEXT BOX on any page, the text box editor shows up and the text is WHITE…and I cannot make any changes to any page.
Something is seriously wrong with the theme.
Please go in and see if you are experiencing this same issue.
I have also tried creating a whole new page and the same thing happens when I use TEXT BOX.
What other options are there to create a page in this advanced layout editor and theme?
October 31, 2016 at 8:13 am #705993Hi Eric,
Sorry for the late reply, I’ve been off for the weekend. I tried creating a new page clearing all the added markup from your text and everything works as it should, please see the URL in private. I’m not sure where you are copying the text from, but it’s adding a lot of unwanted markup and that is why the builder is breaking. As you can see in the page I started building for you, I have used layout blocks to align image/text and I would recommend that you try to use those as much as possible instead of trying to create the layout in a text block element only. If you still want to use that method I would recommend you to use the default editor as there’s really no point in using the Advanced Layout Builder otherwise. Please have a look at the different elements available to you, I can see that you have testimonials in the text I placed on the new page and there’s a separate element for that which you can use. Let me know if this would a way forward for you or if you should need further help in recreating the page which you are having problems with.

RikardOctober 31, 2016 at 7:31 pm #706431Sorry man….it’s not working.
I go into the page you created and try to make changes.
I have taken screen shots to show where things break down in the TEXT BLOCK process.
Each page in the DROPBOX file under ENFOLD SCREEN SHOTS you can see where I have marked up the screen shot and added notes to show you the process in which I am going through to make changes.
This is no different than any other time I have made 100’s of changes to the site.
Something is wrong with the theme since the last update…which is when this problem showed it’s ugly face.
Please advise, Eric
November 1, 2016 at 8:23 am #706603Hi Eric,
Thanks for the feedback, I see the problem and something is going wrong with TinyMCE (the text editor). Could you please try to overwrite the theme files with a fresh copy from your Themeforest account via FTP to see if that helps? http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/. Something probably went wrong during the last update and that should hopefully fix it.

RikardNovember 1, 2016 at 8:57 am #706612Hi there! I want to mention I am experiencing the same issues. I *really* think it may have something to do w the theme interacting w the wordpress browser caching that recently got updated into the new wp version. My css (even custom css will not save – its like the site is immune to it, yet if i edit using chrome web dev tools, boom – it changes!)
I turned off server caching, did a hard refresh with my page (Ctrl + refresh button) updates now SHOW on my working version of chrome but now doesnt show my updates on mobile devices viewing from a different IP address. Shows me work i did two days ago!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help – running out of ideas as to how this may be fixed.
November 1, 2016 at 4:05 pm #706770I WOULD SAY YES, SOMETHING WENT WRONG.
Your FIX of new theme files did not work. Still having an issue here where I cannot make any changes to text on the entire site.
PLEASE ADVISE,
ERIC
November 2, 2016 at 5:48 am #706954Hi Eric,
I tried disabling your Page Builder by SiteOrigin plugin plus the two add-ons for it, the error message disappears after that and I can edit the text block on the test page again. Could you try again please?
@noccomcl please open a new thread and include admin login details in private so that we can have a closer look.Best regards,
RikardNovember 2, 2016 at 11:12 pm #707418Okay. Good deal. Looks like we’re back in business. Not sure why those plugins would cause issues.
Enfold “recommended plugins” on the site says to use TinyMCE…which you had me disable. Should I put it back to ACTIVE?
Also…what other plugin’s should I be running in your opinion?
Thanks R….you’re a master! Way to stay with the issue and see it through. This is why I’ve purchased the Theme a total of 5 times for myself and clients. LOVE IT.
November 3, 2016 at 7:51 am #707607Hi Eric,
Yes the TinyMCE plugin should be safe to activate again, sorry for not checking that. Thanks for the kind words though I should have spotted that Page Builder plugin much earlier, glad everything is working now though :-)
Please let us know if you should need any further help on the topic.
Best regards,
Rikard -
