I have added a fullscreen slider to a portfolio page… but Im wondering, why the resoltuion of the slider pictures are so extremely bad. Is there no way to scale the image quality according to the resoltuion of the user?

    Thanks for helping

    Hey Viramedia,

I don’t think the resolution decreased because of the fullscreen slider, I have tested the slider and doesn’t reduce the quality. The one in the slider is not the original image you have uploaded, you can see the difference in quality below:

Image Used in the slider: http://i1.wp.com/viramedia.de/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/Knaus-Weinsberg-der-perfekte-Moment-13.jpg?fit=1500%2C750

    Original Image: http://i1.wp.com/viramedia.de/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/Knaus-Weinsberg-der-perfekte-Moment-13.jpg

Can you give us temporary admin access so we can inspect further? just post it in the Private section in your reply.

    Best regards,
    Nikko

    you are more then welcome

what could be the reason that the fullwith slider uses the lower resolution image?

    #703177

    Hi,

We edited the slider and set the Slideshow Image and Video Size option to “No Scaling”.

    Hi,

It’s really hard to figure out why it’s fetching this image http://i1.wp.com/viramedia.de/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/Knaus-Weinsberg-der-perfekte-Moment-13.jpg?resize=1500%2C750 instead of this one: http://viramedia.de/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/Knaus-Weinsberg-der-perfekte-Moment-13.jpg it’s the same image however there’s that extra text after it that’s making it blurry, we couldn’t figure it out properly, can you try to disable all plugins, create a test page, add an fullwidth easy slider, add newly uploaded images with hd resolution and check it out if it’s still blurry? you can re-enable the plugins after it we just need to know if it’s the plugins that’s causing it or not, then we’ll try to figure out which of the plugin is causing it.

    Best regards,
    Nikko

the images are hd quality… so there is no reason to only use the resized one…. what could be the issue? I dont think it is a plugin

    #706919

    Hi,

Yes, actually I was also a bit surprised why it’s not fetching the original image, even when you try select the original image, but on the frontend the resized one is reflected instead of the original. At the moment I can only suspect it’s one of the plugins causing it, if it were an issue with the theme then we should also experience the same when using fullscreen slider.

    Nikko

    Hi Nicco
Here on this site Im using the same plugins as on viramedia

But Im not experiencing the same Slider issues with resized images

    #708107

    Hi Viramedia,

I have checked on the link and if it is using same plugins as you said, it also has the same version of Enfold which is the latest 3.8. It’s really a weird issue because we can’t replicate it, if you would allow us to disable all plugins and also give us temporary ftp access, we could probably see what’s causing it since we need to isolate the theme and also check the files.

    Best regards,
    Nikko

go ahead with disabling plugins… I would be glad if you keep the security plugins active so that we dont lose any htaccess settings.
    please let me know…

could it be that WP rocket is making the issue? just have a look and let me know

or is it ShortPixel causing the issue?

    thanks

    Hey!

I couldn’t find the slider in the homepage, I have disable all plugins except for Wordfence and created 2 test pages (links below), the first one’s slideshow is created after all plugins except wordfence has been disabled and the second one, after I have re-enabled all the recently deactivated plugins, it seems the issue doesn’t appear anymore which is weird. And yes I was suspecting the problem is most likely caused by ShortPixel Image Optimizer, WP Rocket. Let us know if the issue still persists on your end.

    Regards,
    Nikko

it’s really strange… but the image compression is on both pictures very high…. so Im not happy about the results yet… and I dont understand why it is compressing so much

    Hi!

I found out that the jetpack is causing the issue. I checked the two pages I have created and it seems to be fetching the wrong image link (refer to private content), when I added it before it was using the right image link which is sharp and not pixelated image. I tried deactivating plugins one by one (actually I only deactivated 3, shortpixel, wp rocket and jetpack), and found out that jetpack is causing it, It is still disabled and I have re-enabled shortpixel and wp-rocket. Let us know if the images quality is better on your end also.

    Best regards,
    Nikko

looks like the photon feature of jetpack is causing that issue uploading the images on WP server and reducing the quality… so disabling photon should fix the issue, right?

    #711952

    Hey!

Yes, that should fix the issue. :)

    #711958

you are right… it fixed the issue by activating jetpack but disabling photon. now the pics are great….

thank you so much for your help, I really appreciate it

but we have now hughe data amount, from 5 to 17 MB…. I need to find a way to reduce the size

    #712298

    Hey!

Try to compress your images in https://tinypng.com/ it should reduce the amount and the quality will still be almost the same.

Im using ShortPixel already… Im wondering if something else could be reduced to optimize speed

    Thanks

    #714820

    Hi!

Try to lazy load images, there are some plugins offered for free. If it doesn’t work and if all images are already optimized and cached, I think the only option is reduce the images on the page which is already heavy.

    Cheers!
    Nikko
