Hi.
I have the latest version of WordPress, latest Enfold and disabled all plugins (I only had 5), the problem is that no matter what code I add to the function.php file the mega menu does not close if you scroll up the screen or even tap on the screen. I have tried this on the iPad Pro and iPad Mini – the problem is still not fixed in Enfold – Please assist as I was embarrassed at a clients place that I could not even close my own menu.
my website is http://www.theimagehouse.co.za

October 18, 2016 at 8:31 am #700454Hi,
Thanks for the details though I can’t see any problem with closing the menu in either iphone6/chrome or ipad mini/chrome. I’m not sure if I’ve misunderstood you but you have to use the close button to close the menu, is that what you did or did you try to tap somewhere else?
Thanks,
RikardOctober 18, 2016 at 9:39 am #700496Hi thanks for the response. I dont think you understand. The menu i am talking about is not the reponsive mobile menu but the full mega menu. If u view the site on a iPad pro then you do not get a responsive design because the resolution is high on the pro. So, when you click away or scroll a page the menu does not close.
October 19, 2016 at 8:08 am #701042Hi shardie,
After Opening the mega menu (Our Work) try tapping on the black section, either the space on the right side after the Contact button or the space on the left side before the logo and it should close the mega menu. The problem I think is the slider images at the back are linked and the only option you have to close it is on the areas I have mentioned.
Best regards,
NikkoOctober 19, 2016 at 9:13 am #701072Hi Nikko. Tapping on the left of the logo or the right of contacts only closes the menu sometimes, however this is not a solution because no-one will know to tap there, also the menu does not close even when you scroll. I dont think the problem is with the links in the slider because the slider is only on the home page and the problem exists on every page.
Okay so heres what I found after some tests and research. The automatic closing or tap to close of the dropdown and mega menus do not work on many other websites as well, including the Enfold demo site. It seems to be that the bootstrap in js works with mouse click and not touch.
You can do a test on many WordPress sites and see that when a menu is open and you scroll, the menu will not close. This is due to the touch on the screen is not recognised by js to close or clear menus.
I hope you guys can find a solution with some simple code or css. Its really frustration having a mega menu block half the screen while scrolling.

RikardOctober 21, 2016 at 10:15 am #702270We are now looking at using UberMenu, their menu seems to work on tablets perfectly. Somehow they have some code there what works (wink wink)

Glad to hear that UberMenu provides you with a solution. We will take this opportunity to look at the issues with our mega menu and see if we can improve it.
