Hi,
I can’t get Google Maps working. This is wat I’ve done:
– Latest version of WordPress
– Latest version of theme
– Created and entered Google API Key
– Tried various referer URL’s in Google’s settings
– Tried no restriction as well in Google’s settings
– Deactivated all pluginsNothing seems to work. I’ll enter the site (page), user name and password below in the Private Content section; can you guys please take a look?
Thnx very much!
MarcSeptember 30, 2016 at 5:07 pm #693935Hey Marc,
I replaced your API key with the one @Vinay generated and it worked which means you should check the steps once again and use your own API key – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-register-a-google-maps-api-key/
Best regards,
YigitOctober 3, 2016 at 9:20 am #694481Hi Yigit, thnx for the reply. You’re API indeed does the job. I’ll check the steps again and will let you know if everything’s fine…

YigitOctober 3, 2016 at 12:07 pm #694524Hi Yigit, I can’t get it working…
Here’s what I’ve done:
– Removed the key @vinay created
– Went to Google Credentials page, deleted old API keys
– Created a new API key (see private content below), added referrer *.kaelen-agri.eu/*
– Waited for more than 5 minutes
– Added new API key in Enfold settings at Google Services page
– Looked at the project page http://kaelen-agri.eu/nl/portfolio-item/familie-lacroix-gulpen-nederland
– It said: Oops, something went wrong etc– Added a new location in the Google Maps media element
– Tried to catch the coordinates, but it said: It seems that your Google API key is not configured correctly. The key is probably either restricted to the wrong domain or the domain syntax you entered is wrong. Please check your API key here. The domain that should be allowed is: http://kaelen-agri.eu/*– Went back to Google Credentials and added http://kaelen-agri.eu/*
– Also decided to add http://www.kaelen-agri.eu/*
– Waited for more than 5 minutes
– Went back to the front end site, but the existing location/map still said: Oops, something went wrong etc
– Went back to the back end site, added a location, tried to fetch coordinates, and it still said: It seems that your Google API key is not configured correctly. The key is probably either restricted to the wrong domain or the domain syntax you entered is wrong. Please check your API key here. The domain that should be allowed is: http://kaelen-agri.eu/*Also emptied cache several times, using WP Fastest cache plugin, but that doesn’t make any difference…
Really have no clue what’s going wrong…

October 4, 2016 at 9:07 am #694931Hi Vinay, thnx for creating a new API key. The map on the page is working now. That’s the good news, great!
However, when I look at my Google API Manager (in Google Developer’s Console) I see another key than you have entered in Enfold’s page for the Google Services. See the private data part of this message.
Can you please explain where/how you have created the working API key? So I can do it myself in the future…
Cheers,
MarcOctober 5, 2016 at 2:14 pm #695482October 6, 2016 at 3:01 am #695834Hi,
Sorry for the delay, to create the google map API visit the google API page (link provided in the documentation )
https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/get-api-key#key1. Click on Get A Key.
2. A popup appears in that select “Create a new project” from the dropdown that appears when you click on “Select or create project” give it a unique name.
2. Click on Enable API.Or in your google account click on re-generate API key on the top.
Both the options should work just fine.
Best regards,
VinayOctober 7, 2016 at 11:10 am #696382Hey Vinay, thnx a ton mate!!! :-D
What went wrong (may be you can use this info for documentation or solving problems from other Enfold users)? I used to go to the page: https://console.developers.google.com/apis/credentials?project=website-kaelen Then I pressed the button ‘Create credentials’ and when the dropdown appears the option ‘API Key’. Tried it at least 10 times that way, but didn’t work…
Now I followed your instructions (so went to https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/get-api-key#key), and then everything worked like a charm!
You just made my day man!!! Thank you very much!!!
One question: should I create a key for every site, or can I just create one key and use it for several sites?
Cheers mate!!!
October 7, 2016 at 11:47 am #696405Hi,
You are most welcome and thank you for the tip.
Using one API key for each site and one API key for many site both has it’s advantages and disadvantages.
One API key for all sites:
Easy to create and add to many sites.
Google has a quota for every API key i believe so this might get exhausted soon depending on number of sites and traffic to the site.
It may stop working on all sites. One API key for one site.
You have to create new key and add to every site.
If the API key fails you only have to change it for one site and not all.I would personally use one api key for one site.
