    Hi there,

I recently updated Enfold on my site and my site crashed. I have a screenshot of what the error message was on the screen (but don’t see an option to attach it). I uploaded a backup of the site so it is up and live now, but I want to make sure I am able to update in the future. Credentials provided in “private content”. I am using a Child Theme of Enfold.

    Thanks!

    Brian

    Hey Brian,

    Sorry for the delayed response!

Would you mind also posting FTP credentials in the private data section. Also post us a screenshot of the error. You can upload the screenshot to imgur.com or dropbox and share the link here.

    Best regards,
    Jordan

    Hi,

The site looks good on my end without any errors. You may not see the changes until the cached files are cleared in your browser.

Please try to hard refresh by pressing Ctrl + Shift + F5 on your browser or press the F12 key to open chrome dev tools and right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload” and review the site again.

    Best regards,
    Vinay

I think you are misunderstanding my support request. The site looks fine because I used a backup of the site database and theme to make the site functional. If you go to Updates, you will see that the site is using Enfold 3.7.1 and that Enfold 3.8 is available. When I upload to 3.8, the site crashes and gives me the error shown in the imgur file I shared earlier.

This is the issue. Why is the site crashing when I update the theme?

    Thanks,

    Brian

    Hi,

We can try and update this for you with your permission. Please backup your site and let us know if it ok to replace the theme files and wordpress if necessary.

    Best regards,
    Vinay
