Hi,
I am looking for a way to set the focal poin on images. Rescaling and cropping to the center does not work with my images, and it is the default with the full screen slider.
Can you recommend a plugin?
I tried https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-smartcrop/, but it doesn’t work.Thanks in afvance

Thank you for using Enfold.
The full screen slider images are set as background and the background size property is set to “cover” which means that it will cover the whole container but parts of the image will overflow outside the container in order to keep its aspect ratio. These is a few of the images used in the demo.

I know, and it works well if your subject is right in the center.
If the subject is not in the center, it might get cut off. I am looking for a way to make sure the overflow does not happen on the subject, splitting it in half and showing a big part of the background.S.

Would you mind posting us a screenshot/mockup of what you would like to achieve? You can upload the screenshot to imgur.com or dropbox and share the link here :)
Best regards,
AndySeptember 22, 2016 at 10:59 am #690190You can see the problem on this website: http://www.lemomentdecisif.be/portfolio/geboortekaartjes. The pink image is also used in http://www.lemomentdecisif.be/portfolio/communiekaartjes
The subject is not in the center of the image and when I want to use the image in another format, I have to upload a second image, for the automatically generated smaller image cuts the subject. The same thing happens when using a smaller screen.
I am preparing more content in an updated version of wordpress and enfold (at the moment still offline) and I want to avoid this issue.
I tried https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-smartcrop/, but it doesn’t work.
Are there other solutions?September 23, 2016 at 12:19 pm #690647Hi,
Wordpress is cropping images by default when uploading them and if you want to control this behavior you can use a plugin like this: https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-image-sizes
I hope this will help :).Best regards,
AndySeptember 23, 2016 at 12:32 pm #690660I have purchased and installed the Theia Smart Thumbnails plugin and this works for thumbnails.
But the avia masonry gallery does not take the changed thumbnails!September 23, 2016 at 12:44 pm #690667Hi,
you need to change the correct thumbnails. You can also change them manually, see here: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-image-sizes/#post-336176
Best regards,
