Hello Kriesi fine folks!
I have been searching for ADA compliance standards and if/how Enfold has any ADA compliance measures incorporated into the theme. I am aware of the standards required per the ADA policy (link below) however I wanted to see if there is anything in Enfold that is capturing this information automatically or if there are any indicators built in Enfold that correct some of these already.

General accessibility strategies:
1. Title frames with text that facilitates frame identification and navigation
2. Provide alternative text for all photos and graphics
3. Provide text alternatives for multimedia content (Flash, video, and audio)
4. Provide a hyperlink to a longer description for graphics that present important information such as charts, graphical tables, and diagrams
5. Provide a description for each hyperlink
6. Make sites usable for assistive technologies by providing alternative text for content that might normally be managed and/or hidden by Web components (such as JavaScript, Applets, Scripts, CSS) that these technologies do not utilize.
7. When electronic forms are designed to be completed online, allow for assistive technologies to access information http://webaim.org/techniques/formsThank you!

Most of the guidelines described are expected to be done by the person entitled to create the site content rather than something that comes from the theme, like adding an alternative text for pictures or links.

JosueFebruary 8, 2017 at 9:17 pm #744503Greetings don’t know if this topic is still open but I’ll create a new one if necessary.
We use Enfold on our website http://henricoschools.us and the compliance issues we have identified are not content creator issues i.e. alt text, links.
There are several that can’t be resolved by the content contributor but the largest issue (when looking at the WCAG 2.0 compliance guidelines) is https://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG20/#content-structure-separation
I’ve got 98 instances that have been red flagged (related to the mouse over menus that are repeated on all of the pages within our site)
1.3 ADAPTABLE
1.3.1 Info and Relationships
Use unique identification for elements
Make a decision for this issue The ID used for an element on the page is also used for another element on the page.
ID’s must be unique.TECHNIQUE TO RESOLVE
In order to sufficiently meet this criterion, one of the following techniques can be applied.
H93 https://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG20-TECHS/H93 Ensuring that id attributes are unique on a Web pageFailures
The following examples show typical mistakes that cause this error.
F77 https://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG20-TECHS/F77
Failure of Success Criterion 4.1.1 due to duplicate values of type IDThe references are taken from the official accessibility guidelines WCAG 2.0. https://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG20/
I use a web governance solution through http://siteimprove.com which audits my site and delivers me reports every 5 days. I’m hoping that the accessibility issues within the Enfold theme can be addressed because it is one of the best themes I’ve every used in WordPress.

February 14, 2017 at 3:10 pm #746908Hi,
have you got similar results with another WP theme?
Feel free to make a feature request for Kriesi here: https://kriesi.at/support/enfold-feature-requests/
Best regards,

I don’t think Kriesi is going to implement and change everything very fast, so you might think about switching to another theme.
Best regards,
Andy -
