I’ve realized some issues with my WordPress/Enfold environment. I am getting a lot of errors on every page:
Warning: htmlspecialchars(): charset `”utf-8″‘ not supported, assuming utf-8 in /home/.sites/208/site579/web/wp/wp-content/themes/enfold/functions-enfold.php on line 96Even if I go to the Enfold menu I am getting:
Warning: htmlspecialchars(): charset `”utf-8″‘ not supported, assuming utf-8 in /home/.sites/208/site579/web/wp/wp-content/themes/enfold/framework/php/class-htmlhelper.php on line 1118
Can you help me please?
August 21, 2016 at 7:25 pm #675396Hello,
Have you tried disabling all third-party plugins to see if it gets fixed?

JosueAugust 21, 2016 at 9:51 pm #675442Jup i did this right now :/ nothing changed unfortunately – I also did no updates since months on the HP (just wordpress as usual and enfold)

August 23, 2016 at 6:49 am #676205Hi,
Thanks for the details, there is a .htaccess password prompt before getting to the login page as well though. Could you post details for that as well please?
Regards,
RikardAugust 23, 2016 at 8:19 am #676240Sorry but there is no such prompt to be honest. Just go to the link below, i’ve tested this twice with your user credentials. :(
August 24, 2016 at 6:42 am #676806August 24, 2016 at 11:59 am #676904Rikard, and you have tried the credentials? To be honest there is not htaccess password prompt in front of wordpress – tried that several times now – also a colleague of mine (via IE/Edge/Chrome)
I just get the wordpress login
Sorry that this is an issue :(August 24, 2016 at 12:02 pm #676907Again the URL
August 25, 2016 at 4:36 pm #677636Hi,
The only way you can get a password prompt like that is through .htaccess so please check it, I think you have saved it in your browser and that is why you are not seeing it. And yes of course I tried the credentials, they are not working as expected since they are WordPress details.
Thanks,
RikardAugust 25, 2016 at 4:43 pm #677646I will doublecheck this – but I access it also within my company (other browser/computer) as well as after your first message, I asked a colleague of mine to test this. No problems here…
August 25, 2016 at 4:58 pm #677660Thats my htaccess file – anything to change?

Warning messages are gone now.
Best regards,
JosueAugust 27, 2016 at 9:47 am #678408Oh wow – thanks! What was the problem? Something I did wrong?
One last question – I’ve realized that on the coming soon page the “countdown” isn’t working any longer. The date should be set correct… But nothing visible… Anything I need to be aware of?August 27, 2016 at 5:50 pm #678445Hey!
Try adding this code to the Quick CSS:
.av-countdown-timer { opacity: 1; }
Cheers!
JosueAugust 30, 2016 at 9:23 am #679288Hey Josue,
Thanks – the Countdown is visible again but not counting down (i’ve picked a date in future of course) – any ideas? I’ver realized also here an utf-8 problem (directly at the enfold theme, i’ve just added the quick css (next to it there is a warning displayed:
Warning: htmlspecialchars(): charset `”utf-8″‘ not supported, assuming utf-8 in /home/.sites/208/site579/web/haeusler-consulting.at/wp/wp-content/themes/enfold/framework/php/class-htmlhelper.php on line 1118

Did you change the FTP details? We can’t get in. And we need the authentication details from the web/.htpasswd file.

AndySeptember 19, 2016 at 12:35 pm #688427Hey Update done! Nothing changed!
Warning: htmlspecialchars(): charset `”utf-8″‘ not supported, assuming utf-8 in /home/.sites/208/site579/web/haeusler-consulting.at/wp/wp-admin/includes/template.php on line 1003Same error as before on several sites within WordPress – Countdown on coming soon page still not working…
Sorry :_(September 19, 2016 at 12:47 pm #688430this is a strange url because a folder with dot in front is invisible – isn’t it: /home/.sites/208/site579/web/…
is it for your provider normal on the absolute path?September 19, 2016 at 4:10 pm #688570Hi,
There might be some corrupted files, so please delete all theme files completely via FTP, before installing a fresh copy from your themeforest account. Here is a short tutorial on how to install the theme via FTP, in case you are not sure how that works:
have you got those error messages when using a default WP theme as well?
Keep all plugins deactivated while testing.

AndyNovember 9, 2016 at 4:44 pm #710314Hi again,
Sorry i never answered – my fault:
Warning: htmlspecialchars(): charset
"utf-8"' not supported, assuming utf-8 in /home/.sites/208/site579/web/haeusler-consulting.at/wp/wp-content/themes/enfold/framework/php/class-htmlhelper.php on line 1118 Warning: htmlspecialchars(): charset
“utf-8″‘ not supported, assuming utf-8 in /home/.sites/208/site579/web/haeusler-consulting.at/wp/wp-content/themes/enfold/framework/php/class-htmlhelper.php on line 1118After the FTP reinstall nothing changed. I get the error above directly at the “enfold” menu. And on the wordpress dashboard I get these:
Warning: htmlspecialchars(): charset `”utf-8″‘ not supported, assuming utf-8 in /home/.sites/208/site579/web/haeusler-consulting.at/wp/wp-admin/includes/template.php on line 1003
any ideas?
November 10, 2016 at 4:29 pm #710815Hi,
do you get these error messages with a default WordPress theme as well? Please let us know about your results.
To me it sounds like you got a corrupted WordPress installation, so I would go for a re installation.
Best regards,
Andy -
