theme impossible to install

hi, i’ll start saying that it’s the first time i’m working on wordpress, so it’s possible that i’m doing some stupid mistakes.
i’m trying to install enfold on wordpress and the procedure looks pretty easy: themes->add new->choose file->install. i’m confident i’m trying to upload the right file, i downloaded the “installable wordpress file only” folder and uploaded the zipped enfold folder that is in it; i did it on wordpress 4.5.2, but the theme is probably not compatible with that so i downgraded it to the 4.5 version. with both versions it gives me the same problem, when the upload reaches exactly the 91% the page disconnects and that’s it.
what can i do?
