display japanese characters

hi there

I want to display some japanese characters on my enfold site.
But they always appear like this: http://d1383127-61836.blacknighthosting.com/2016/06/07/test/
where they should appear like this (not sure if this will work)

I think it has something to do with the Database encoding so i’ve followed this

but this didnt work.

Wondering if you’ve come across this before and might know of a solution.
