Hi there,
We have a strange error. We are working with a customer adding and translating content for portfolio items. I have no trouble changing texts etc. But my customer is not able to change the content of a text block. He receives a message like ” Error while retrieving data – please refresh page and try again”
He tried to change in Chrome, Explorer, Edge and Firefox also on different workstations. I have assigned a new user for him, no change. Upgraded to admin, no change.
The only difference I can think of is the OS; I am using Win 7 and he is using Win 10
Is this a known error? What are we overlooking?

Hey Peter,
I couldn’t log in because of WordFence, but I’m guessing it’s because of the network your client is on. Could he try outside of the network he’s in maybe?

Oups ….sorry about that, country blocking is on. I assume your are in Austria (.at)? So I have enabled that country for logging in.
We have tried another network (Firefox / Win 10), same result. The odd case is that it is not for every text block ….

Most of the moderators are actually not in Austria, we are spread out across the whole planet actually :-)
The problem text block, does it contain an iframe or something similar? My guess is that the network reacts to traffic coming from a third party and might block it.

I was afraid so :-) county blocking is off totally now. The Philippines I guess :-) No iframe or whatever just plain text in portfolio items….
But, your answer did me realize that Wordfence recently has added an active firewall …..problem solved. My mistake is that could have notice it by checking the live traffic log. Most of the time you overlook what is just before you’re feet.
