This issue was closed before a real solution was provided. Am I missing something? There is currently a work around, but no permanent fix.
Issue: Getting the following error message and can’t edit text box.
Error fetching content – please reload the page and try again.Work around: Disable Wordfence plugin, edit text box, then remember to enable Wordfence again.
Thanks,
BrentMay 20, 2016 at 5:13 am #635692Hi Brent,
Could you please provide us with a temporary admin login so that we can take a closer look? You can post the details in the Private Content section of your reply. Also please be as specific as possible as to where and how you are getting that error.
Thanks,
RikardMay 23, 2016 at 7:08 pm #637023Just commenting so I get an update when the issue is resolved as I’m also seeing this.
May 23, 2016 at 7:32 pm #637030I already sent you my login stuff in the first message. Here it is again.
When I click in the content area for that section to edit the text is when the Error message occurs.
Everything is up to date and the site has functioned well with editing before,
So I don’t understand why this is happening.
I have done lots of editing previously with Wordfence active so why now all of a sudden is this happening?
thank you in advance:-)- This reply was modified 8 years, 6 months ago by elames.

VinayMay 24, 2016 at 2:42 pm #637496Disabling Wordfence worked for me. How will be know when the issue is resolved so we can re-enable the security?
May 24, 2016 at 3:22 pm #637518Hi,
Glad it worked for you and thanks for sharing the tip :)
When the new version is released we usually update the changelog on the theme page on themeforest.net http://themeforest.net/item/enfold-responsive-multipurpose-theme/4519990 We will mention the changes in changelog.Best regards,
VinayMay 28, 2016 at 12:22 am #639558Maybe this is helpful. I updated to the latest version of Wordfence (v6.1.8) and when I went to edit a text box I get the same “failed to fetch” message, however upon closing that I got the following message dialog regarding “background request blocked for URL wp-admin/admin-ajax.php” with an option to whitelist. Clicked on “whitelist this action” and now all appears to be working.

I will keep you posted if I continue to see any unusual behavior.
Thanks,

VinayMay 31, 2016 at 12:52 pm #640889I have the same issue, when I try to re-opening a text block of the ALB to add new text.
Disabling Wordfence solves this, but I won’t let Wordfence disabled all the time.
A whitelisting does not work – clicking in Wordfence’s “Live Traffic” at “whitelist” does not helped.June 1, 2016 at 1:01 pm #641442Hi,
contact Wordfence support about it and let us know what they are replying about it.
Best regards,
