Creating an automatic download of an image?

This is likely to be a very simple solution so apologies for this request! I can’t seem to find the solution on any other thread.

Until now we have added .pdf files to our website that are linked to via an image or piece of text on a page, and then open in a new window. It’s simple and users know what they need to do to then save the file.

Now we are trying to make a small image .jpg downloadable with one click. When we add a link to text or to an image linking direct to the .jpeg location, we expected it to either load in a new browser window or download as the pdf files have, however whatever we try within the available settings in the Enfold Theme content windows, the image loads over the page as images do when using a feature such as ‘Light Box’ or an image gallery.

What I need is to have an image, or some ‘Download Here’ text that will automatically start a download of the .jpeg image for the website visitor. Can you please advise me of the best way to achieve this in the Enfold Theme.
